How much does the 2019 Lexus IS cost?

Is the 2019 Lexus IS a good car?

The 2019 Lexus IS is a reasonable pick if you want a compact luxury sports sedan with a sporty personality and a premium-brand feel, especially if you value a smaller footprint over maximum space. Its user rating is 3/5, which suggests a mixed but workable ownership experience for the right buyer.

The overview points to a car that is fun to drive, aimed at younger buyers, and positioned as an entry-level Lexus with standard luxury features and available safety technology. It is not the best fit for families because the back seat is really tight, and its fuel economy and cargo space are both limited.

With 31.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively rather than rushing into the first example you see.

Is the 2019 Lexus IS reliable?

The 2019 Lexus IS is presented as a familiar entry-level Lexus with a long reputation for being fun to drive, and it carries the brand’s premium feel in a compact package. The overview also emphasizes standard luxury equipment and available safety features, which supports its appeal as a well-rounded used luxury sedan.

At the same time, you should still think about long-term ownership risk in the usual used-car way: condition, maintenance history, and how the car was driven matter a lot when you are buying a premium sedan with a sporty character.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Lexus IS?

At 51.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to body condition, panel alignment, and signs of repair. Because this model is not especially practical, make sure the specific car you choose still fits your needs for passenger space and cargo use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Lexus IS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 419 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.57% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 51.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,531, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $24,273 sits slightly below last year's $24,914.

That tells you the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you should be better positioned to protect value. For a future seller, the key will be staying close to the market’s current range rather than expecting a quick rebound.

Should I buy a 2019 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.57% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a sensible choice if you want a compact luxury sedan with a sporty feel and you can find a clean, well-priced example. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a lower-priced alternative gives you similar equipment and condition for less money.
