Used 2019 Honda Insight for Sale nearBaltimore, MD

How much does the 2019 Honda Insight cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 184 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2019 Honda Insight a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Honda Insight earns 5/5 from users and 7.8/10 from experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The Insight’s appeal is rooted in its practical sedan layout, with plenty of interior and trunk space, plus a more attractive design than the Civic it shares its foundation with. It is aimed at buyers who want a practical, affordable, and efficient car without giving up everyday usability or a conventional look.

37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop for value.

Is the 2019 Honda Insight reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Insight is described as a traditional hybrid with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, an electric drive motor, and a lithium-ion battery, and its hybrid system is tuned for everyday commuting rather than plug-in use. The expert review also notes that the car’s driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems work smoothly and that the regenerative brakes avoid the usual stickiness associated with hybrids.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to strong ownership appeal if you value fuel savings, safety, and modern tech in a family-friendly package. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that road noise, wind roar, and CVT behavior may affect how satisfied you feel after the purchase.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Honda Insight?

At 62.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in any collision or shows signs of uneven wear. Focus on overall condition, because the Insight’s value proposition depends on getting the efficiency, safety, and comfort benefits without inheriting avoidable repair issues.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX is the simplest version, while EX and Touring add more equipment. The Touring stands out with 17-inch aluminum wheels, leather power-adjustable seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, fog lights, a 10-speaker premium sound system, navigation with real-time traffic, and Honda Link subscription services with a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Powertrain: The Insight uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, an electric drive motor, and an electronic continuously variable transmission. It is a traditional hybrid, so you do not plug it in, and the review notes that the car can feel lively thanks to its combined output and electric-motor torque.
• Safety package: Every Insight includes a reversing camera, automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist. EX and Touring add LaneWatch, which shows the right-side blind spot on the infotainment screen.
• Infotainment: The Insight has an 8-inch touchscreen, and the system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Touring trim adds Honda Link Security, Honda Link Remote, and an available Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The source says the LX and EX trims are rated at 52 mpg in combined driving, while the Touring is rated at 48 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2019 Honda Insight trim should I buy?

The 2019 Honda Insight is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, EX, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Insight’s core hybrid efficiency and standard safety equipment without paying for extras. It gives you the basic sedan formula and the strongest efficiency rating mentioned in the source.
• EX: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of equipment and value, because it adds LaneWatch while keeping the more efficient setup mentioned for the lower trims. It is the most sensible middle ground for many shoppers.
• Touring: Choose this if you want the most features, including leather seats, a sunroof, navigation, premium audio, and Honda Link services. It is the most upscale version, but it is also the least efficient of the three.

Every Insight includes the core driver-assistance suite, while EX and Touring add LaneWatch.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Honda Insight?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 184 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,112, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Honda Insight's resale value?

The current average of $17,069 sits slightly above last year's $16,975.

That small increase suggests the used market has been stable rather than volatile, which is helpful if you plan to sell later. A steady price trend can make it easier to estimate your future trade-in or private-party value without worrying about sharp swings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Honda Insight safe?

The 2019 Honda Insight is a Top Safety Pick Plus according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it gets top marks in every single assessment.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Insight comes with a reversing camera, automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist. EX and Touring trims add LaneWatch, which uses a camera to show the right-side blind spot on the infotainment screen.

One caveat is that LaneWatch only covers the right side and does not replace a more traditional blind-spot monitoring system. Even so, the rest of the driver-assistance package is broad and well integrated.

Should I buy a 2019 Honda Insight or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert summary highlights the 2019 model as a traditional 4-door sedan with plenty of interior and trunk space, plus a more attractive design than the Civic it is based on.

The bottom line: The 2019 Insight is the right pick if you want a practical, efficient hybrid sedan with strong safety credentials and stable pricing. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can still shop this year confidently, but you should be selective about condition and accident history so you do not give up the value the car is supposed to deliver.

How does the 2019 Honda Insight compare to the 2019 Toyota Prius?

Our experts score the 2019 Honda Insight 7.8/10 and the 2019 Toyota Prius 7.3/10.

The Insight is the more affordable used buy here, and it also has the stronger expert score and better deal availability. The Prius counters with higher city and highway efficiency, plus a larger used inventory pool. If you want the better value proposition and a more conventional sedan feel, the Insight has the edge; if maximum mpg matters most, the Prius is the stronger efficiency play.
