Is the 2019 Honda Civic Type R a good car?

Yes — the 4.86/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview also frames it as a serious front-wheel-drive performance car with everyday usability, which fits the owner feedback well. Is the 2019 Honda Civic Type R reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that feels dependable and trouble-free enough to earn repeat praise for its performance and daily usability. That kind of response suggests you can count on it as a long-term enthusiast car if it has been maintained properly.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the concept of the car and more about how hard it was driven and how well it was cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Honda Civic Type R?

At 61.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on bodywork quality, panel alignment, and signs of hard use. Because this is a performance-oriented model, condition matters as much as mileage, so pay close attention to maintenance records and overall wear.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Honda Civic Type R?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 127 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.45% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,075, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Honda Civic Type R's resale value?

The current average of $34,208 sits slightly below last year's $34,709.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now if you plan to hold the car for a while. For a future seller, the current trend implies resale value may stay supported, but you should still expect pricing to depend heavily on condition, history, and how well the car has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Honda Civic Type R or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a strong choice if you want the Type R formula with solid owner approval and a market that is a little softer than it was a year ago. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price.
