CarGurus Analysis: 2019 GMC Yukon

Summary
With 1,564 currently listed for sale and an average price of $28,248, 33.9% of 2019 GMC Yukons for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 GMC Yukon 5 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2019 GMC Yukon stands out as a full-size SUV that blends a commanding presence with a restrained, upscale look. It has long been known for premium amenities, plush materials, and modern technology, and it remains a roomy, well-appointed family hauler with lots of interior space. For buyers who want something substantial without flashy styling, that understated character is part of its appeal.
For this generation, the Yukon benefits from a lower floor that creates more cargo area and passenger space, along with a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a push-button gear system on the dash, nine camera views, tri-zone climate control, and an eight-inch digital gauge cluster. It also offers a 277-horsepower 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged diesel engine alongside 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 and 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 options, with a 10-speed automatic transmission standard across the lineup. The Yukon also remains one of the few full-size, three-row SUVs with a V8 engine and a turbodiesel, which helps set it apart in a crowded segment.
There are tradeoffs, though. The Yukon’s safety tech is not standard across the board, and the most advanced technology is optional rather than standard. Reliability also hasn’t been great so far this generation, so shoppers are likely to value its space, features, and strong road presence more than long-term peace of mind.

The Denali with 22 inch wheels and locks, sunroof, 4wd, the ultimate package addition, with superior entertainment, will work for me. The only other make I would compare would be the Escalade Luxury or premium package. The Yukon is definitely more rugged, however.

I love the GMC Yukon. This is my second one. I put over 200K miles on the last one, it still looks and runs great. I am just in the mood for a new vehicle. If you are looking for a Large SUV, this is my pick. I just wish there were more options decisions that could be made. They are nice, but A lot of them I dont need.

Is the 2019 GMC Yukon reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Reviewers’ comments point to a vehicle that feels rugged and dependable in everyday use, with owners highlighting its overall value and comfort. The feedback also suggests it can be a trouble-free choice for buyers who prioritize space and features over flash. For used shoppers, the main long-term ownership risk is that you should still verify condition carefully, since satisfaction is high but individual vehicles can vary.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 GMC Yukon?
At 66.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-mileage or heavily optioned trucks where wear can be harder to spot. Focus your condition check on the body, interior, and any signs of uneven repair quality so you know exactly what you’re buying.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 GMC Yukon?
This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

- Price trend: Prices have softened 13.00% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,194, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 GMC Yukon's resale value?
The current average of $28,194 sits slightly below last year's $32,407.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is documented than on broad market momentum alone. If you keep the Yukon clean, well maintained, and accident-free, you give yourself a better chance of standing out when it’s time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 66.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 13.00% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a full-size SUV with strong owner satisfaction, a roomy cabin, and a market that currently favors careful shoppers, the 2019 is a sensible primary choice. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you should also compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than the newest badge alone.
