Why it stands out
The 2019 Ford Taurus stands out as the final version of a long-running full-size sedan that had been refined into a roomy, comfortable, and fairly straightforward family car. By the end of its run, it was aimed at buyers who wanted a spacious and reliable car, and the buying guide notes that late-model examples can be a good deal for that reason. It also had a broad appeal because Ford offered multiple powertrain choices over the generation, including a standard V6 and an available turbocharged four-cylinder, while the Taurus SHO added a performance-oriented option with all-wheel drive.
What makes the 2019 model especially distinctive is that it sits at the end of the sixth and final generation, which launched for the 2010 model year with a bold three-bar grille and a full-size sedan mission. The generation was refreshed for 2013 with a new grille and front fascia, updated suspension, improved front seats, and Ford’s Sync and MyFordTouch infotainment software. The Taurus Limited could be equipped with advanced safety features such as blind-spot warning with cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and collision warning with brake support. The Taurus SHO remained the standout performance version, using a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, while the regular Taurus could feel pedestrian compared with rivals and was criticized for outdated technology.

| Average Price a Year Ago | $15,009 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −7.47% |
Prices have softened 7.47% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 299 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
If you find a listing below $13,911.16, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2019 Ford Taurus a good car?
Yes — the 2019 Ford Taurus earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
Owners consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, and smooth ride, and many also like the strong performance and handling. The review summary also highlights its luxury features and safety aspects, which makes it appealing if you want a roomy, comfortable sedan with a more upscale feel.
For you, that means the Taurus makes the most sense if you value a full-size cabin, relaxed daily driving, and a car that feels composed in challenging conditions. With 23.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.
Is the 2019 Ford Taurus reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The review summary points to a car that owners describe as dependable and trouble-free in the ways that matter most to them, especially when they talk about comfort, smooth driving, and confidence over time. That kind of feedback suggests the Taurus can be a sensible choice if you want a used sedan you can count on for regular ownership.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about owner sentiment and more about finding a well-kept example, since condition and maintenance history will matter a lot as these cars age.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford Taurus?
At 62.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive.
Focus your inspection on overall condition, signs of past repairs, and whether the car still feels tight and well maintained on the road. A clean history and strong mechanical condition matter more here than chasing the lowest sticker price.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Taurus?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, where you can find value if you shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 299 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.47% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 62.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $13,911.16, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Ford Taurus's resale value?
The current average of $13,888 sits slightly below last year's $15,009.
That price movement suggests the Taurus has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you purchase near the lower end of the market and keep the car in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later.
The model’s strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand, since shoppers often respond well to cars that current owners rate highly. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Ford Taurus or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 62.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.47% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value and owner satisfaction, the 2019 is the year to target, especially because prices have eased and there are still some good deals in the market. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can widen your search to nearby years, but the 2019 remains the best starting point when you want a roomy full-size sedan with strong owner approval.
