Why it stands out
The 2019 Ford Ranger makes a strong case for itself in the competitive midsize pickup segment, showcasing a blend of power, advanced technology, and practical capability. Its 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine stands out with an impressive 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to tow up to 7,500 pounds. This combines well with its 10-speed automatic transmission for a driving experience that is both responsive and capable, especially in Sport mode where it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 7 seconds.
Thanks to a well-thought-out design, the Ranger also offers a maximum payload of 1,860 pounds, making it a viable option for work-related tasks without compromising on comfort for everyday driving. However, some user feedback indicates limitations in comfort on uneven roads, and while it features robust technology, the interior aesthetics might not appeal to everyone. The Ranger stands out with its affordable pricing compared to rivals such as the Toyota Tacoma and Chevy Colorado, positioning it as a solid choice for buyers looking for a capable yet budget-friendly midsize pickup.
