Is the 2019 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to a model that satisfies many shoppers looking for a small, budget-friendly subcompact SUV. The 2019 Trax is aimed at city driving, with a compact footprint, a higher seating position, and practical utility in a smaller package. It also brings useful tech for the class, including smartphone integration and available safety packages that add driver-assistance features. For you, that makes it a sensible choice if you want affordability, maneuverability, and everyday usefulness in one vehicle. 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2019 Trax is described as a straightforward, practical crossover with a simple formula that prioritizes affordability and usefulness over flash. Its available all-wheel drive can be a plus if you want extra traction, and the model’s updated tech and safety content help it feel more modern than its price suggests. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle has been maintained well, since condition and prior use will matter more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Trax?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the car’s structural and mechanical condition. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven wear, and any issues with the infotainment or safety equipment, since those are the kinds of details that can affect your ownership experience. If a listing looks especially clean, make sure the condition matches the asking price and the reported history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,852 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,200, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $11,222 sits slightly below last year's $12,363.

That price movement suggests the Trax has already moved through a meaningful portion of its depreciation curve, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. Because the market is still showing active inventory and a decent share of deal-priced listings, your eventual resale outcome will depend heavily on how well you maintain the vehicle and how clean its history is. If you buy carefully now, you give yourself a better chance of limiting losses later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Trax is the better pick if you want a budget-friendly small SUV with useful tech, a manageable size, and a market that still offers some pricing leverage. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower-mileage or better-conditioned example gives you more value for the money.
