How much does the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 9.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,719 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its comfortable ride, solid performance, and spacious interior, and they also call out its quietness, power, acceleration, and handling. That lines up well with the overview’s focus on a truck that should appeal strongly to Chevy loyalists while still working as a practical pickup for everyday use. Even so, some owners wanted more standard features in certain trims and felt it could seem less luxurious than some competitors. With 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels comfortable, solid, and easy to live with over time, and it also highlights quietness, power, and a spacious cabin. The expert assessment adds that the truck feels stiffer and better buttoned-down than before, which supports the sense that it should hold up well in regular use. The cost-effectiveness notes also suggest you may be able to find a more affordable version once discounts deepen. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is condition-specific wear, so maintenance history and inspection quality matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

At 68.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Focus on body condition, suspension wear, and signs of hard use, since those are the kinds of issues that can matter most on a full-size pickup. If you’re comparing multiple listings, give extra weight to trucks with cleaner histories and fewer signs of heavy-duty abuse.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes WT, Custom, LT, RST, LTZ, and High Country, with Trail Boss versions of the Custom and LT adding a lifted off-road suspension and rugged appearance. Base-trim trucks can feel sparse, so you should pay close attention to feature gaps if you want a more comfortable daily driver.
• Powertrain: The truck is offered with multiple engines, including a 4.3-liter V6, several V8 options, a turbocharged 2.7-liter 4-cylinder, and a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel 6-cylinder. The expert assessment notes strong acceleration and a stiff, confidence-inspiring chassis, but also mentions that fuel economy can fall short of expectations.
• Safety package: The Silverado includes pedestrian braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, following-distance monitor, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. The optional Safety Package adds front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change alert, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Chevrolet Infotainment 3 brings Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and Teen Driver. A high-definition reversing camera is available as an upgrade, and embedded navigation is limited to LTZ and High Country.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert assessment says the truck was expected to get 17 mpg, but the test truck returned 13.8 mpg on one loop and never broke an average of 15 mpg on another.

Which 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in 8 trim levels: WT, Custom, LT, RST, LTZ, High Country, Custom Trail Boss, and LT Trail Boss.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the work-focused starting point, so it makes sense if you want the most basic Silverado and plan to keep costs down.
• Custom: This trim adds a little more everyday appeal while staying on the value side of the lineup, making it a sensible choice if you want a lower-priced truck without jumping too far upmarket.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it balances equipment, comfort, and price more effectively than the entry trims.
• RST: Choose this if you want a more style-forward Silverado with a sportier look.
• LTZ: This is the better pick if you want more upscale features, and it’s also one of the trims that can get embedded navigation.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice for buyers who want the most premium feel in the lineup.
• Custom Trail Boss: Pick this if you want the lifted off-road suspension and rugged appearance without moving all the way to the top of the range.
• LT Trail Boss: This is the most compelling choice for buyers who want the off-road-ready setup and a more fully equipped truck.

The Safety Package is a worthwhile add-on if you want parking sensors and the lane-change alert feature.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $25,948 sits slightly below last year's $28,586.

That decline suggests the truck has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help demand in the near term. The good news is that the Silverado still has broad appeal among pickup shoppers, especially when it’s well maintained and equipped with desirable features.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned truck feels stiffer and better buttoned-down than the previous version.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $28,034, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $25,948 average.
• It adds a new 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine and more available powertrains across trims.

The bottom line: If you want the lower price and strong owner satisfaction, the 2019 is the smarter buy. If you’re willing to pay more for added powertrain variety and newer updates, the 2020 is the better path. For price-sensitive shoppers, the 2019 offers the stronger value case right now.
