Is the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze a good car?

The 2019 Chevrolet Cruze is a balanced used-car pick if you want a compact sedan that blends quality, safety, and driving performance with a practical price point. It earned a user rating of 3/5, and its appeal is strongest if you value a comfortable ride, useful technology, and uncommon powertrain choices for the class.

Chevrolet also gave it a mild refresh for 2019, made the seven-inch touchscreen standard, and kept features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the mix. If you want a compact car that feels more polished than many rivals and still offers hatchback versatility or diesel availability, it fits that brief well.

29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze reliable?

The 2019 Chevrolet Cruze stands out for its strong safety equipment, solid-feeling body structure, and comfortable long-distance demeanor. It also comes with standard safety features that help it feel reassuring for everyday use.

Its overall package is more about dependable practicality than excitement, and the car’s strengths are tied to comfort, safety, and usability. For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by focusing on maintenance history and condition, especially because a well-kept example will matter more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Cruze?

At 55.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, suspension, or repair issues. Focus on overall condition, service records, and how well the car’s electronics and comfort features work, since those are the areas that will shape your ownership experience most.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Cruze?

• Inventory: There are 698 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.97% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,346, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze's resale value?

The current average of $10,364 sits slightly below last year's $10,906.

That tells you the Cruze has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, the same trend suggests resale value may remain pressure-sensitive, so condition and documentation will matter a lot when it’s time to list the car again.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.97% compared with last year.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $10,015, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $10,364 average.
• The 2018 is a smooth, comfortable, and fuel-efficient daily driver.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the newer model-year updates and are willing to shop carefully for a clean example. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2018 is the better value path, especially if you find one with strong maintenance records and a clean history.
