How much does the 2019 Buick Envision cost?

Prices have softened 5.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 618 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Buick Envision a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Buick Envision earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, luxury features, spacious and stylish interior, and smooth ride. The overview also frames it as a compact luxury SUV for younger luxury shoppers who want an upscale alternative without moving into a larger vehicle class, and the market positioning depends heavily on how well equipped the vehicle is. At the same time, the value proposition is strongest when you find the right configuration, since the Envision’s appeal is tied closely to equipment level.

With 34.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s enough market flexibility to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Buick Envision reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a comfortable, dependable-feeling ownership experience, with repeated praise for the smooth ride, luxury features, and value compared with higher-end brands. The expert review also emphasizes a quiet cabin and a composed, easygoing character around town, which supports the impression of a vehicle built for relaxed daily use. Buick’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs a bit.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Envision’s premium feel can depend on trim and options, so a neglected or under-equipped example may not deliver the same satisfaction over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Buick Envision?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price is near the top of the range. Focus on condition, equipment completeness, and whether the trim level matches the features you expect, since the Envision’s value changes a lot with equipment. It’s also worth checking that the safety and convenience features you want are actually present on the specific vehicle you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim comes with 18-inch wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, heated front seats, and an 8-way power driver’s seat, while the Preferred trim doesn’t add much but opens up more option packages. The Essence adds a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, select driver-assistance features, and memory settings for the driver’s seat and side-view mirrors. The Premium AWD is the best-value choice because it adds a Bose premium stereo, 19-inch aluminum wheels, bi-LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, an upgraded 8-inch semi-digital instrument panel, and the more powerful engine. The Premium II AWD adds heated and cooled front seats, a head-up display, navigation, leather seating, and all-wheel drive.
• Powertrain: The FWD, Preferred, and Essence trims use a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with 197 horsepower and an outdated 6-speed automatic, and this setup feels underpowered and sluggish in many situations. The Premium and Premium II trims use a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 252 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, paired with a new 9-speed automatic, and it delivers solid acceleration.
• Safety package: The Envision comes standard with ten airbags, a reversing camera with Rear Park Assist, and GM’s Safety Alert Seat on the Premium and Premium II trims. Essence and Premium trims add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while the Premium trim also adds lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision alert. The Driver Confidence Package is available only on the Premium II trim and adds adaptive cruise control, automatic front braking, and a 360-degree camera.
• Infotainment: The Envision uses an 8-inch touchscreen with GM’s Intellilink system, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system has hard buttons and dials below the screen, and the layout is straightforward. Wireless charging is also available on the test vehicle.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-liter FWD setup returns 22 mpg city, 29 highway, and 25 combined. The turbo AWD test model is rated at 20/25/22.

Which 2019 Buick Envision trim should I buy?

The 2019 Buick Envision is offered in 5 trim levels: base FWD Envision, Preferred, Essence, Premium AWD, and Premium II AWD.

Here's the short version:

• base FWD Envision: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Envision experience with heated front seats, a hands-free power liftgate, and the 2.5-liter engine. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price, but it’s the least compelling choice if you care about power or a richer feature set.
• Preferred: This trim doesn’t add much beyond the base model, but it does open up more option packages. It’s mainly for you if you want to build up from the entry trim without jumping straight to a higher-priced version.
• Essence: This is the trim that starts to feel more complete, thanks to the heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, memory settings, and added driver-assistance features. It’s a better fit if you want a more upscale daily driver without going all the way to the top.
• Premium AWD: This is the best-value trim. It adds the stronger turbo engine, AWD, Bose audio, 19-inch wheels, bi-LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and the upgraded instrument panel, making it the most balanced choice for most shoppers.
• Premium II AWD: Choose this if you want the most comfort and convenience features, including heated and cooled front seats, navigation, a head-up display, leather seating, and AWD. It’s the most luxurious version, but it also pushes the price higher.

The safety-package trim note is simple: the most advanced driver-assistance bundle is reserved for the Premium II trim, while several useful safety features arrive earlier on Essence and Premium.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Buick Envision?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 618 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,116, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Buick Envision's resale value?

The current average of $17,116 sits slightly below last year's $18,183.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean future resale gains are limited unless you buy well and keep the vehicle in excellent condition. If you plan to sell later, the best protection is choosing a well-equipped trim, maintaining the vehicle carefully, and keeping documentation for service and history. A clean, accident-free example should be easier to move than one with a questionable record or missing features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Buick Envision safe?

The 2019 Buick Envision earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with ten airbags, a reversing camera with Rear Park Assist, and GM’s Safety Alert Seat on Premium and Premium II trims. Essence and Premium trims add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while the Premium trim also adds lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision alert. The Driver Confidence Package, available only on Premium II, adds adaptive cruise control, automatic front braking, and a 360-degree camera.

One caveat is that many of the more advanced driver-assistance features are not standard on lower trims, so you need to shop carefully if safety tech is a priority.

Should I buy a 2019 Buick Envision or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 stands out for its compact luxury-SUV positioning, smooth ride, and strong comfort focus, but it also asks you to pay attention to trim choice because the best equipment is concentrated higher up the lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, comfort, and equipment, the 2019 is the one to target, especially in a well-equipped trim like Premium AWD. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can still shop the lower trims, but you’ll want to be selective because the feature and powertrain differences are significant.
