How much does the 2016 Buick Envision cost?

Is the 2016 Buick Envision a good car?

The 2016 Buick Envision stood out in Buick’s SUV lineup as the model that filled the gap between the Encore and the Enclave. It was also notable for being the first Chinese-built GM vehicle sold in America. Under the hood, it came with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four, AWD, and a six-speed automatic transmission, and Buick paired that with a comfortable, well-equipped cabin.

For you, that means the Envision makes the most sense if you want a comfort-first SUV with a generous equipment list and useful safety tech. Its styling and packaging gave it a more premium feel than many mainstream SUVs, even if the exterior design was described as drab and not as convincing as the compact luxury rivals it was meant to challenge.

33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2016 Buick Envision reliable?

The 2016 Envision’s strengths were its generous equipment list, useful safety tech, and a ride that fit Buick’s comfort-first image. It also earned the maximum Good rating in five crash tests from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, although its driver-assist features were rated at the lowest “Basic” level and it never received a Top Safety Pick.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about condition, maintenance history, and how the vehicle was treated than about a standout reliability reputation from the information here.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Buick Envision?

At 61.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the condition of the body, suspension, electronics, and safety systems. Focus on signs of prior repair quality, uneven wear, and any issues that could affect comfort or the Envision’s well-equipped features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Buick Envision?

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 259 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,777, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Buick Envision's resale value?

The current average of $11,965 sits slightly below last year's $13,880.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. If you buy well and keep the Envision in strong shape, you’ll be better positioned to recover value later, but the recent trend points to a softer resale environment overall.

Should I buy a 2016 Buick Envision or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.80% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the original 2016 Envision’s comfort-focused setup and you find a clean example at a strong price, it can be a sensible buy.
