How much does the 2019 BMW X7 cost?

Prices have softened 15.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 636 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 BMW X7 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 BMW X7 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, spaciousness, comfort, handling, and the wide range of options available in upgraded models. It also fits your needs well if you want a full-size luxury SUV with a dedicated three-row layout for family use. The market also shows 41.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which supports the case for shopping this year carefully.

Is the 2019 BMW X7 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as luxurious, spacious, comfortable, and dependable in everyday use, with a strong sense that it delivers the upscale experience they expected. The inline-6 is described as smooth, linear, and quiet at idle, while the V8 is also described as smooth and refined, which supports the impression of a well-sorted powertrain lineup. BMW also notes that the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the X7’s size, complexity, and option-heavy build can make condition and maintenance history especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 BMW X7?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury SUV with a lot of available equipment. Pay close attention to how the second row, third row, and power features operate, since the X7’s family-friendly layout and upscale options are a big part of its appeal. Condition matters most on the higher-spec examples, where more equipment can mean more to inspect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The xDrive40i gives you AWD, an air suspension, 4-zone auto climate control, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive LEDs, and power everything, while the xDrive50i adds the V8, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon stereo, multi-contour front seats, and genuine leather. The xDrive40i is the better-value choice if you want the core X7 experience without stepping deep into option territory.
• Powertrain: The xDrive40i uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 with 335 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque, while the xDrive50i upgrades to a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 with 456 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. The inline-6 is described as smooth and linear, while the V8 delivers stronger acceleration and easier motivation for the X7’s weight.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes parking sensors front and rear, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning. The Driving Assistance Pro package adds adaptive cruise with lane-keep and lane-change assist, evasive steering, front cross-traffic alert, and BMW’s automated driving system, while the Parking Assistance package adds a 360-degree camera and automated parking.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch touchscreen handles navigation and the updated iDrive interface, and it includes subscription-based Apple CarPlay. The system can also be updated over the air, and the head-up display is large enough to reduce how often you need to look down at the gauges.
• Fuel efficiency: The inline-6 returns 20 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, while the V8 returns 15 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined.

Which 2019 BMW X7 trim should I buy?

The 2019 BMW X7 is offered in 2 trim levels: xDrive40i and xDrive50i.

Here's the short version:

• xDrive40i: This is the trim to target if you want the core X7 formula at the lower entry point. You still get AWD, air suspension, 4-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive LEDs, and the 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation and Apple CarPlay, plus the smooth turbocharged inline-6. It’s the best-value choice for most shoppers.
• xDrive50i: Choose this if you want the stronger V8, more upscale standard cabin equipment, and the added punch that comes with the 456-hp engine. It suits you best if performance and luxury features matter more than keeping the purchase price in check.

For safety, the Driving Assistance Pro package adds adaptive cruise with lane-keep and lane-change assist, evasive steering, and front cross-traffic alert, while the Parking Assistance package adds a 360-degree camera and automated parking.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you’re a future seller, the current softness means condition, mileage, and equipment will matter even more when it’s time to list. Well-kept examples should still attract attention because the X7 remains a desirable full-size luxury SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 BMW X7 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 41.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s the first model year of BMW’s dedicated full-size three-row SUV, which makes it the most straightforward choice if you want the original X7 formula.

The bottom line: If you want the lowest entry price into the X7 nameplate and you’re comfortable shopping carefully, the 2019 is a sensible starting point. If you’re price-sensitive and want a broader pool of newer inventory, a later model year may be worth comparing as well.
