CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Audi Q7

Summary
With 1,237 currently listed for sale and an average price of $18,825, 36.2% of 2019 Audi Q7s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Audi Q7 4.71 / 5 stars.
74.9% of 2019 Q7 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Audi Q7 stands out as a three-row luxury SUV that blends comfort, refinement, and useful capability. Audi’s second-generation Q7 brought a cleaner, more angular design, and the cabin was described as a technological marvel compared with the previous Q7. For this model year, the Q7 offered a choice between a turbocharged, 252-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a turbocharged, 333hp 3.0-liter V6, with the stronger engine also bringing 7,700 pounds of towing capacity. It also had three rows of seats, with comfortable and spacious front and second rows, while the third row was smaller and best reserved for children.
The 2019 Q7 also appealed with its mix of upscale features and everyday usability. It offered digital instrumentation and, for the first time, apps such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the Navigation Plus package. Cargo space measured 14.2 cubic feet behind the third row, 37.5 cubic feet with that row folded, and 69.6 cubic feet at maximum. Buyers also got a vehicle that had performed well in crash tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety since 2017, though headlight performance was consistently poor through 2023.
As a used luxury SUV, the 2019 Q7’s strengths are balanced by some familiar drawbacks. The turbocharged four-cylinder was said not to provide enough power and to suffer unimpressive fuel economy because it had to work hard, while the Q7 overall requires premium fuel and can bring higher-than-average maintenance costs. Even so, owners commonly praise the interior quality, comfort, and ride quality, which helps explain why the 2019 Audi Q7 remains appealing to shoppers who want a polished, practical luxury SUV.

Reviewed a 2019 Audi Q7 on Mar 5, 2020
Have driven everything over the last five decades, Benz, Lexi, BMW & Audi. Plus all the domestics, Mazda & Nissan as well. Have had a 1st Gen Q7 TDI for the last four years and loved it. However, the 2nd Gen (& 2020) Q7 really is the best of all worlds in terms of the SUV experience. Best ergonomics, MMI & interior quality in its class (or any class for that matter). Adequate performance for a daily driver (SQ for sub 5 second adrenaline junkies), and an unparalleled ride quality at speed. Understanding that there are high quality designs from everyone these days (its a great time to buy an automobile), there remains a creme de la creme segment in terms of design & quality. My informed opinion is that Audi retains its lead in this segment, albeit narrowly, and the Q7 is the best definition of SUV you will find anywhere.

Is the 2019 Audi Q7 a good car?
Yes — the 4.71/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the interior quality, comfort, and ride quality, and they also value the Q7’s performance and overall value compared with other luxury options. If you want a three-row luxury SUV that feels polished and practical, the Q7’s blend of comfort, refinement, and everyday usability fits that use case well. 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2019 Audi Q7 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback highlights a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with comfort and quality that help it earn trust over time. That kind of praise suggests the Q7 can be a trouble-free choice when it has been maintained properly. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying too much for a premium SUV that may carry higher upkeep costs.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Audi Q7?
At 74.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus your condition check on signs of prior bodywork, uneven wear, and any evidence that the vehicle has been used hard or poorly maintained.

What is the 2019 Audi Q7's resale value?
The current average of $18,887 sits slightly below last year's $21,779.
That price decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. If you buy carefully now, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation later.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Audi Q7 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 74.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 13.28% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $24,639, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,887 average.
- It brings a thorough update to styling, interior, powertrain, and technology.
The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is high. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer-feeling SUV with a more comprehensive update, the 2020 is the better secondary path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2019 offers the more compelling balance of cost and appeal.
