How much does the 2019 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 8.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,355 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX a good car?

Generally — the 2019 Acura MDX earns a 4.4/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for used buyers. It is especially relevant if you want a midsize three-row luxury crossover with a comfortable ride, a spacious cabin, and everyday usability. Owners repeatedly praise the smooth ride, reliable performance, and V6 power, while the overview highlights comfort, space, and proven character. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

The MDX’s appeal is strongest if you value a well-rounded family luxury SUV rather than a flashy tech showcase. The user feedback also points to luxurious features and a familiar, refined feel, even if some shoppers wanted a more upscale interior and easier-to-use infotainment. With 34.6% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to reliable performance, and owners also describe the MDX as a vehicle they feel good about living with over time. The expert drive notes that the 2019 updates resolved one of the SUV’s more irritating traits by improving the transmission’s behavior, which supports the sense of dependable day-to-day operation. Acura also includes a free 90-day trial of AcuraLink Connect services, with automatic collision notification, SOS emergency calling, and a car-finding function.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle was maintained well and equipped the way you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Acura MDX?

At 64.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair. It also makes sense to focus on how the cabin, infotainment, and driver-assistance features function in real use, since those are the areas where owner feedback and expert testing point to the most noticeable tradeoffs. If you want a more confidence-inspiring purchase, look closely at maintenance records and feature content before you commit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A-Spec Package adds a unique front bumper design, Shark Gray 20-inch wheels, dark chrome and gloss black trim, darkened lighting elements, red leather and black Alcantara suede seats, an A-Spec steering wheel with paddle shifters, metallic pattern trim, and red instrument panel illumination. The Advance Package adds adaptive damping suspension. The Technology Package is the key step if you want blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and a 9-speed automatic transmission. SH-AWD is the recommended upgrade if you want torque-vectoring all-wheel drive and stronger handling balance.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard on all MDX trims and includes the brand’s driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert require the Technology Package.
• Infotainment: The MDX uses dual infotainment screens, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and voice recognition. The screens are described as small for the class, and the system can be frustrating to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard MDX is rated at 21 mpg in combined driving, and the Sport Hybrid returns much better city fuel economy.

Which 2019 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2019 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Base, Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point if you want the MDX’s core strengths at the lowest price, including the standard V6, AcuraWatch, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. It makes sense if you want the model’s fundamentals and plan to keep the budget in check.
• Technology Package: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which are important safety upgrades over the base trim. It is the trim to target if you want the most useful mix of equipment and value.
• A-Spec Package: This trim is for you if you want the sportier appearance and a more distinctive cabin, including the red leather and black Alcantara interior treatment. It also requires SH-AWD, so it suits buyers who want a more engaging setup.
• Advance Package: This is the trim to choose if you want the most comfort-oriented setup, including adaptive damping suspension. It is the right fit if ride quality and premium feel matter more than price.

AcuraWatch is standard on all trims, but blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert still require the Technology Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Acura MDX?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,355 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,144, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $21,144 sits slightly below last year's $23,120.

That decline suggests the MDX has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help you enter the market at a better price point. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on broad market momentum alone. Well-kept examples with desirable features should still attract attention, especially because the model has a strong reputation with owners.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX safe?

The 2019 Acura MDX earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard on all MDX trims and includes the brand’s driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems. You still need the Technology Package to get blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The safety coverage is strong overall, but the IIHS result reflects merely Acceptable headlight performance and child safety seat anchor accessibility, so those are worth keeping in mind when you shop.

Should I buy a 2019 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 update improved transmission behavior and added the A-Spec Package.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $23,666, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $21,144 average.
• It adds a stronger emphasis on standard advanced safety features and a more spacious-feeling family-friendly package.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the smarter buy because pricing has softened and inventory is healthy. If you can spend more for a newer model year, the 2020 is the cleaner alternative for buyers who want to pay up for a slightly newer package.

How does the 2019 Acura MDX compare to the 2019 Honda Pilot?

Our experts score the 2019 Acura MDX 8/10 and the 2019 Honda Pilot 8.3/10.

The MDX gives you the more powerful V6 and the luxury-brand experience, while the Pilot undercuts it on price and offers a stronger deal share. The MDX also has the edge in average used price and a more premium presentation, but the Pilot brings more listings and a slightly better accident-free share. If you want the upscale feel and stronger performance, the MDX makes sense; if value and broader inventory matter more, the Pilot is the easier buy.
