There are 305 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 Toyota Sequoia a good car?

Yes — 5/5. The 2018 Toyota Sequoia stands out as a big, truck-based family SUV that leans on durability and capability rather than flash, and it offers three rows of seating for buyers who need space and strength. The 2018 refresh also brought updated front-end styling and Toyota’s SafetySense driving assistance features, along with a blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, which make a large SUV easier to live with. 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Toyota Sequoia reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2018 Toyota Sequoia is described as having a reputation for dependable powertrains and strong resale value, and the refreshed model year is noted for a nice balance of modern safety features and dependability. Its appeal is rooted in proven hardware and a straightforward, rugged design.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a large, truck-based SUV can bring higher wear on components like brakes and can be more vulnerable to rust in harsh climates.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Toyota Sequoia?

At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to the brakes and underbody condition.

Because frame rust is a concern, especially in the snow belt, focus on corrosion, uneven wear, and signs of hard use before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota Sequoia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 305 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.21% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 56.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,026, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota Sequoia's resale value?

The current average of $33,640 sits slightly above last year's $33,239.

That upward move suggests the market still values this model year’s combination of durability, capability, and family-friendly seating. For a future seller, that kind of steady pricing can help support a stronger exit point if your vehicle is well maintained and presents cleanly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota Sequoia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.21% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of updated safety features, proven durability, and used-market demand, the 2018 is the one to target first. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but you should still prioritize condition, accident history, and maintenance records over small differences in asking price.
