Is the 2018 Toyota Avalon a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its reliability, comfort, and design, and many also like the smooth ride and value for money. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a roomy, quiet sedan that leans toward relaxed highway cruising rather than sporty handling. Is the 2018 Toyota Avalon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback repeatedly highlights reliability, and drivers also describe it as dependable and trouble-free over time. That matters if you want a used sedan you can count on for long-term ownership with fewer surprises.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Toyota Avalon?

At 59.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete maintenance documentation. Focus on overall condition, because a clean-looking Avalon can still hide wear from prior damage or neglected upkeep.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota Avalon?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best listings.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 301 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,680, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota Avalon's resale value?

The current average of $19,424 sits slightly below last year's $19,559.

That small decline suggests the Avalon has been holding value fairly steadily rather than dropping sharply. For you as a future seller, that usually means pricing should remain relatively predictable if the car stays in good condition and has solid maintenance records. The model’s comfort-first appeal and steady owner satisfaction help support demand in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota Avalon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $23,957, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $19,424 average.
• It adds new tech, more power, and a more modern feel.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2018 is the smarter starting point because it delivers the Avalon’s core comfort and satisfaction at a lower price. If you’re willing to spend more for a fresher design and a more modern driving experience, the 2019 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2018 remains the more compelling buy.
