Should I buy a 2018 Toyota Avalon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.17% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $23,823, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $19,732 average.
• It adds new tech, more power, and updated safety equipment.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the better value and are willing to shop carefully for condition. If you want a newer-feeling package and can stretch your budget, the 2019 is the stronger upgrade path; if price matters most, the 2018 remains the smarter buy.
