Used 2018 Toyota 4Runner for Sale nearHartford, CT

How much does the 2018 Toyota 4Runner cost?

Prices have softened 2.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,765 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful number of options to compare.

Is the 2018 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Toyota 4Runner earns a 4.54/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its off-road capability and reliability, and many also like its style and durability. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a rugged SUV that prioritizes trail use and long-term toughness over modern-road refinement. With 33.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 4.54/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, durability, and long-lasting value, along with a reputation for being trouble-free and dependable over time. That kind of owner sentiment matters if you plan to keep the vehicle for years rather than treat it as a short-term purchase.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s core toughness and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Toyota 4Runner?

At 61.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the price looks unusually attractive. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on signs of off-road wear, uneven tire wear, and any evidence of body or suspension repairs. You should also pay close attention to overall condition, since a rugged SUV can hide hard use better than a softer-road vehicle.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota 4Runner?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,765 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,188, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $28,950 sits slightly below last year's $29,791.

That softer pricing can help you buy with less risk of overpaying, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays steady. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of preserving value later because your starting point is already below the prior-year average. Strong condition and clean history will matter a lot if you want to maximize what you get back at resale.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.54/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.54/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $31,669, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $28,950 average.
• It adds a more modern-feeling off-road SUV alternative with a fully enclosed cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2018 is the stronger starting point because it costs less and still delivers the core 4Runner formula. If you can stretch for the 2019 and want the newer-year alternative, that makes sense for buyers who are willing to pay more for the next model year’s updated feel.
