How much does the 2018 Subaru Legacy cost?

Prices have softened 2.31% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 628 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 Subaru Legacy a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 5/5, and that lines up with the model’s strong appeal for safety, comfort, and everyday usability. The owner feedback highlights its excellent safety features, comfortable ride, spacious interior, and good fuel economy, which makes it especially appealing if you want a practical sedan that feels confidence-inspiring in bad weather. The overview also points to standard all-wheel drive and modern connectivity, so you get a car that fits well if you value all-weather traction and up-to-date tech in a mainstream sedan. With 32.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Subaru Legacy reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback specifically points to reliability as a strength, alongside the car’s comfortable ride and practical everyday character. That kind of praise matters because it suggests you’re looking at a sedan that many owners feel they can count on over time. For used buyers, that usually means lower ownership anxiety, but you should still verify maintenance history and overall condition before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Subaru Legacy?

At 56.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, repair quality, and signs of inconsistent wear so you can avoid paying strong money for a car that needs hidden work.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru Legacy?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 628 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.31% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,015, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $14,455 sits slightly below last year's $14,797.

That price movement suggests the model has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you can help protect your future value. The model’s broad appeal should still support demand, especially among shoppers who want standard all-wheel drive and a comfortable daily driver.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2018 is a strong choice if you want a Legacy with standard all-wheel drive, modern connectivity, and strong owner satisfaction, especially if you can find one with clean history and a competitive price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, it can also make sense to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge.
