At 61.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. Focus on overall condition, signs of past repairs, and whether the car still feels tight and well cared for in everyday driving.

What is the 2018 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $13,603 sits slightly below last year's $13,792.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, which can make resale a little more competitive for future sellers. If you own one, you may need to price carefully to stand out, especially if your car has average mileage or visible wear. On the other hand, the model’s strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when you eventually list it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $12,686, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $13,603 average.
• It offers standard all-wheel drive with a practical, affordable package.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and availability. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2017 is the better value path, especially if you find one in good condition.
