CarGurus Analysis: 2018 Nissan Titan

Summary
With 125 currently listed for sale near Washington, DC and an average price of $22,248.00, 26.4% of 2018 Nissan Titans for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 Nissan Titan 5 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2018 Nissan Titan stands out as a full-size truck that tries to blend capability with a more comfortable, well-equipped feel than many buyers might expect. It came with a 5.6-liter V8 rated at 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque, plus a new seven-speed automatic transmission. Nissan also offered rear- or four-wheel drive, so the truck could be configured for different kinds of use without changing its core formula.
What makes the Titan distinctive is the way it mixes work-truck practicality with upscale touches. The interior was refreshed with the gearshift moved to the column and a center console large enough to store a 15-inch laptop, along with Nissan’s Zero Gravity seats. Standard equipment included Bluetooth phone connectivity, push-button ignition, and a back-up camera, while available features ranged from GPS navigation and SiriusXM Satellite Radio to heated-and-cooled front seats, an electronic locking rear tailgate, and a Rockford-Fosgate premium audio system. The Titan also offered a unique UtiliTrack-channel system and in-bed cargo boxes for better load management, which adds to its appeal for buyers who want a truck that is easy to live with as well as useful.
At the same time, the 2018 Titan had clear limitations. Nissan promised a base V6 engine, but it never materialized before the truck’s demise in 2024, leaving the V8 as the only option. The buying guide also notes that the Titan fell behind competitors in configurability, with fewer powertrains and cab-and-bed combinations than rival full-size trucks. Even so, for shoppers who value a quiet cabin, comfortable seating, and strong performance, the 2018 Titan has a distinctive personality that helps it stand apart.

As a 5 time Nissan buyer this is my second Titan. Too many truck owners only stick with what they know....which costs them lots of money. My last Titan is still on the road with 370,000 kms with only a power steering pump needing replacement about 3 years ago...thats it...nothing else! How many big three truck Owners can say that? I bet very few. Strong engine, strong truck, no problems.

I own a 2018 Titan SV 4x4. It currently is at 76k miles. I have driven all of the Big 3 at my job. The Titan rides better and quieter than the others. The seats are hands down more comfortable than any competitor. Fuel mileage is on par with the Big 3, except for the Ford EcoBoost. The truck will do everything you ask of it. The 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty is second to none, although Ive not needed it in the 76k miles of my trucks life. I will own another Titan after this one.

How much does the 2018 Nissan Titan cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $22,158 |
| Year-Round Low | $21,986.14 |
| Year-Round High | $23,328.77 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $23,243 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −4.67% |
Prices have softened 4.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
With 1,209 listings available, you have a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
If you find a listing below $21,986.14, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2018 Nissan Titan a good car?
Yes — the 2018 Nissan Titan earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, quiet interior, and comfortable seating. The truck also gets credit for strong performance, towing ability, and overall value, especially when you compare it with rivals. For you, that makes it a good fit if you want a full-size truck that feels more comfortable and well-equipped than purely work-focused alternatives.
With 26.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2018 Nissan Titan reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback also points to reliability in practical terms: owners describe it as dependable, appreciate its strong performance, and say they would recommend it. That combination suggests the Titan has earned trust through everyday use rather than just first impressions.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about owner sentiment and more about finding a truck that has been maintained well and not worn down by hard use.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Nissan Titan?
At 64.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with past damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, frame areas, and signs of uneven wear, since condition matters more when a sizable share of inventory has accident history. Focus on maintenance records and overall mechanical condition so you can avoid paying strong money for a truck that needs catch-up work.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Nissan Titan?
This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,209 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.67% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 64.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $21,986.14, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2018 Nissan Titan's resale value?
The current average of $22,158 sits slightly below last year's $23,243.
That price movement suggests the Titan has softened enough to create a better entry point for you now, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays soft. If you buy at the right price and keep the truck in strong condition, you can help protect your exit value later. The Titan’s broad owner approval also helps support demand when it comes time to resell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 Nissan Titan or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 64.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.67% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2017 if:
- At $19,743, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $22,158 average.
- It offers a redesigned truck with serious full-size pickup credibility.
The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around value proposition, the 2018 is the better primary target because it combines softer pricing, strong owner approval, and decent deal availability. If your budget is tighter, the 2017 is the better secondary path because it costs less and still brings meaningful capability.
