CarGurus Analysis: 2020 Nissan Titan
overall

Summary
With 84 currently listed for sale near Washington, DC and an average price of $23,999, 22.6% of 2020 Nissan Titans for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2020 Nissan Titan 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.5 / 10.
79.8% of 2020 Titan models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2020 Nissan Titan stands out as a more convincing full-size pickup than Nissan has offered in the past, with the test-drive summary calling it a worthy alternative in the segment. For 2020, Nissan made major strides in technology, safety, and overall value, which gives the Titan broader appeal than just among other Titans. It also earns praise for its powerful engine and spacious cabin, two traits that help it feel practical as well as capable.
Even so, the Titan is not without drawbacks. The test-drive data still points to outdated technology and uninspired styling, which can make it feel less current than some rivals. That mix of strengths and weaknesses leaves the 2020 Nissan Titan as a truck with real substance—especially in power, space, and value—but one that still has room to improve in presentation and tech.

The Titan is the value in the truck world. It comes standard with loads of saftey tech, a powerful engine, and quick shifting transmission. It is not as good as a top line Ford, GM , or Ram. Those trucks, which will be marginally better, run 10-15k more. You can easily spend 60k on an xlt f 150 and not get leather seats. 60k puts you into the Plantinum Reserve territory for the Titan.

Love the smooth transition from any speed, and the power. Very comfortable and well appointed. For a powerful V-8 and full size truck , I think it gets good gas mileage too. Lots of interior storage space, and overall well designed. Trading up from an extended cab 2002 F-250, so quite a jump all around. Choose the Titan from reviews and articles. The other trucks I considered were the Ram and Tundra, but very happy with this.

Yes — the 2020 Nissan Titan earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels reliable, dependable, and trouble-free enough to inspire confidence over time. The expert review reinforces that sense of durability by describing the Titan as a truck with stronger overall substance for 2020, especially in the way it combines power, utility, and safety.
Nissan also includes a 5-year/100,000-mile warranty, which adds peace of mind for used buyers who want extra coverage. Even so, you should still think carefully about maintenance history and how the truck was used, since a full-size pickup can face heavy wear if it spent its life towing or hauling.
What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Nissan Titan?
At 72.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on trucks that may have been used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear in the cabin, bed, suspension, and braking system.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lower trims can feel plain compared with the upper versions, while the higher trims add more visual polish and interior quality. The SV is the one CarGurus recommends you buy, and it strikes the best balance of equipment and value.
- Powertrain: You get a 5.6-liter V8 with 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and 4-wheel drive is optional.
- Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes front and rear automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and auto high beams. Adaptive cruise control, a driver-attention monitor, traffic-sign recognition, and 360-degree cameras are optional.
- Infotainment: The Titan offers an 8- or 9-inch touchscreen, and the 9-inch display is the one to get. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard with the 9-inch screen, and the system supports over-the-air updates.
- Fuel efficiency: The expert review says EPA ratings were not yet available, though it notes an average of 16 mpg over a 500-mile week.
Which 2020 Nissan Titan trim should I buy?
The 2020 Nissan Titan is offered in 1 trim level: SV.
Here's the short version:
The SV is the trim to target because it delivers the best mix of value, technology, and everyday usability. It adds extra technology and interior amenities over the lower setup, and it’s the version CarGurus recommends you buy. If you want the Titan’s strongest all-around case without stretching into pricier territory, this is the one to focus on.
The safety package note is straightforward: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, while adaptive cruise control, a driver-attention monitor, traffic-sign recognition, and 360-degree cameras remain optional.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Titan?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 912 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.25% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 72.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $26,494, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2020 Nissan Titan's resale value?
The current average of $26,582 sits slightly below last year's $29,953.
That price movement suggests the Titan has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range and keep the truck in good condition, you may be better positioned when it’s time to sell. Strong equipment, a clean history, and documented maintenance should matter more to future buyers than a truck that simply looks cheap today.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2020 Nissan Titan safe?
The 2020 Titan has not yet been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes front and rear automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and auto high beams. A rear-door alert also comes standard. Optional safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, a driver-attention monitor, traffic-sign recognition, and 360-degree cameras.
The expert review also notes that Nissan improved the body structure after earlier crash-test concerns, which is an important confidence point for used shoppers.
Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Titan or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2020 if:
- 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 72.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.25% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- Nissan made major strides in technology, safety, and overall value for this model year.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $30,043, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $26,582 average.
- It carries the 2020 refresh forward with strong standard power, technology, and safety.
The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter starting point because prices are softer and the truck already benefits from the major refresh. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model-year listing, the 2021 is the cleaner alternative, but the 2020 gives you the stronger price-to-equipment case for most used buyers.
