Is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxurious features, comfort, and performance, and they also highlight the power delivery and electronic features that improve the driving experience. Is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centered on comfort, luxury, and strong performance. That said, used luxury SUVs can carry higher long-term ownership risk if maintenance history is unclear, so you should pay close attention to service records and overall condition before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you get too far into the process. A pre-purchase inspection should be a priority, especially on a large luxury SUV where repair costs can add up quickly. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 990 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.96% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,619, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS's resale value?

The current average of $20,619 sits slightly below last year's $23,419.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you if you buy at the right price and hold the vehicle for a while. For a future seller, the softer market means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Well-kept examples should still attract interest because this model has strong appeal among shoppers who want a luxury three-row SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.96% compared with last year.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want a well-liked, comfort-focused luxury SUV and you can verify condition carefully. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may also be worth comparing, but the 2018 stands out as a strong value play when you find a clean example with solid history.
