It’s positioned as a more attainable alternative to the flagship Range Rover, while still offering a premium cabin, strong engines, polished road manners, and useful family flexibility from the available 5+2 seating. The tradeoff is that it remains an expensive midsize SUV, so it fits you best if you value capability and upscale feel more than low running costs. 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

You should run a vehicle history report before you get serious about any listing, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a shop that knows luxury SUVs. What is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $22,843 sits slightly below last year's $26,543.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy carefully and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to preserve value than someone who overpays or skips maintenance. The model’s premium image and capability still help it stand out, but the softer pricing trend means future resale will depend heavily on condition and service history.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 makes sense if you want the updated second-generation Range Rover Sport experience, especially the lighter chassis, added space, and newer tech and safety features. If you’re price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 is the better fit when you want a balance of modern equipment, strong capability, and a market price that has already come down meaningfully.
