There are 1,000 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable range of options to compare.

Is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxurious features, comfort, and performance, and they also highlight the power delivery and electronic features that improve the driving experience. For you, that means this is a strong fit if you want a large, premium three-row SUV with a refined feel and a family-friendly layout. With 37.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes that the GLS feels luxurious, comfortable, and dependable in day-to-day use, with strong performance and features that owners appreciate over time. Some drivers mention interior-space expectations and charging convenience, but the overall tone suggests a vehicle many owners feel good about keeping. For used buyers, that usually means long-term ownership risk is more about condition and maintenance history than broad dissatisfaction.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, interior wear, and signs of uneven repair quality, especially on a luxury SUV where past incidents can affect long-term ownership costs. It also makes sense to pay close attention to how the cabin, electronics, and seating surfaces have held up, since those are central to the GLS ownership experience.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,000 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,975, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS's resale value?

The current average of $20,975 sits slightly below last year's $24,024.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned than someone who paid closer to the prior-year average. The GLS’s premium image and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, especially among shoppers looking for a comfortable three-row luxury SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 GLS makes the most sense if you want a well-equipped, comfort-focused luxury SUV and you can verify that the specific example you’re considering has a clean history and solid maintenance records. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it with nearby model years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge alone.
