overall

Summary
With 611 currently listed for sale and an average price of $26,718.00, 33.1% of 2018 Lincoln Navigators for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2018 Lincoln Navigator stands out as a full-size luxury SUV that leans hard into style and presence. Lincoln says the redesigned Navigator is meant to remind U.S. shoppers how much style and swagger an American luxury vehicle can offer, and the broader impression is that this model marks a return to the kind of distinctive American luxury that once felt more common. It also arrives as part of Lincoln’s sharper-looking design direction, which helps the Navigator feel more memorable than the anonymous styling that had dulled the brand’s lineup.
That appeal is reinforced by the way the Navigator fits into Lincoln’s history. The model first hit the market in 1997, during the SUV boom, and quickly became a status symbol. By 2018, it is presented as a vehicle that could help show Lincoln had found its mojo again. For buyers, that means the Navigator’s draw is not just size or utility, but the combination of luxury image, strong road presence, and the sense that it represents a more confident Lincoln.
Owner feedback lines up with that upscale mission, with drivers praising the 2018 Lincoln Navigator for its comfort, luxury, and interior space. Its ability to haul and its strong performance, especially for towing, are also recurring positives. The main drawbacks mentioned are a lack of trunk space in the regular-size model and occasional issues with the Sync system, so while the Navigator makes a strong case as a premium family hauler, it is not without compromises.

It’s a great vehicle if you’re not worried about retail value. Comfortable vehicle for long trips for family 4 plus. It has more leg room than a Suburban or Cadillac Escalade ESV. Didn’t buy vehicle for MPG’s even though it is comparable to the competition.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, luxury, and interior space, and they also highlight its hauling ability and strong towing performance. That lines up with the Navigator’s role as a full-size luxury SUV that emphasizes presence, family usefulness, and a premium feel.
With Lincoln positioning this model as a more distinctive, style-forward luxury SUV, it makes sense if you want a big, upscale hauler that feels special rather than anonymous. The market also shows 28.7% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2018 Lincoln Navigator reliable?
Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The user feedback points to comfort, luxury, interior space, hauling ability, and strong towing performance, which all suggest a vehicle that owners feel good about living with over time. The same feedback also mentions occasional Sync system issues and limited trunk space in the regular-size model, so the ownership experience is not entirely free of compromises.
The expert review also emphasizes the Navigator’s strong power delivery and confident road manners for such a large SUV, which supports the idea that it is built to handle long-term use without feeling underpowered. If you buy used, your main long-term risk is more about condition, electronics, and prior care than basic capability.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Lincoln Navigator?
At 72.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with luxury features that can be expensive to sort out. Pay close attention to body condition, interior wear, and how well the infotainment and convenience systems operate, since those are the kinds of issues that can affect ownership satisfaction.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: Even the base Premiere trim is lavish, with 20-inch wheels, LED lighting, heated first- and second-row seats, power-folding second- and third-row seating, a 10-inch touchscreen with navigation, and a 12-inch reconfigurable instrument cluster. The Select adds adaptive suspension, 22-inch wheels, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, power side running boards, and a 360-degree camera, while Reserve adds a panoramic dual-pane sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, and unique 22-inch wheels. Black Label adds the most exclusive cabin themes and premium ownership perks.
- Powertrain: The Navigator uses a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 with 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with available 4-wheel drive, and the setup is tuned for strong performance and towing rather than efficiency.
- Safety package: Standard equipment includes front- and side-impact airbags, LATCH, tire pressure monitoring, a reversing camera, Side Wind Stabilization, and blind-spot warning. Lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning and mitigation with pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go are reserved for Black Label.
- Infotainment: You get a 10-inch touchscreen with Sync 3, plus Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa through AppLink, and physical volume and tuning knobs. Rear-seat entertainment and the Revel audio system are available or standard depending on trim.
- Fuel efficiency: The RWD model returns 16 mpg city, 23 highway, 19 combined, while the 4WD version returns 16 mpg city, 21 highway, 18 combined.
Which 2018 Lincoln Navigator trim should I buy?
The 2018 Lincoln Navigator is offered in 4 trim levels: Premiere, Select, Reserve, and Black Label.
Here's the short version:
- Premiere: This is the value play if you want the Navigator experience without stretching too far. It already gives you a richly equipped cabin, heated first- and second-row seats, power-folding seating, a 10-inch touchscreen, navigation, and a 12-inch digital cluster, so you are not starting from a stripped-down base model.
- Select: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds adaptive suspension, 22-inch wheels, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, power side running boards, and a 360-degree camera. If you want the biggest jump in everyday convenience and drivability, this is the trim to target.
- Reserve: This trim is for you if you want a more upscale feel, thanks to the panoramic dual-pane sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, and distinctive wheel design. It is a strong choice if cabin ambiance matters more to you than chasing the lowest price.
- Black Label: This is the top-tier choice for buyers who want the most exclusive experience, including unique interior themes, the heavy-duty trailer package, and premium ownership services such as pickup for maintenance, upgraded maintenance coverage, free car washes, specialized dealership staff, and access to special experiences.
The safety package is strongest on Black Label, where you get lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning and mitigation with pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Lincoln Navigator?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, but the best examples still deserve quick action.
- Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 600 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.68% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 72.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $26,655.13, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2018 Lincoln Navigator's resale value?
The current average of $26,787 sits slightly below last year's $29,991.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Navigator more attractive to used buyers today but less favorable for a seller trying to maximize return immediately. If you own one, the current pricing trend means you should expect a softer resale environment than last year’s. Well-kept examples can still hold appeal because the Navigator’s luxury image and strong capability remain part of its draw.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2018 Lincoln Navigator safe?
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety equipment includes front- and side-impact airbags, LATCH, a reversing camera, tire pressure monitoring, Side Wind Stabilization, and blind-spot warning. Black Label adds lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning and mitigation with pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, so the most advanced driver-assistance features are not standard across the lineup.
That means you should pay close attention to trim when shopping used, because the safety tech gap between lower trims and Black Label is meaningful. If advanced driver assistance matters to you, prioritize a higher trim rather than assuming every Navigator has the same equipment.
Should I buy a 2018 Lincoln Navigator or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 72.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.68% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2018 model marks Lincoln’s sharper, more distinctive design direction and pairs that with strong towing ability and a premium cabin.
The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive version of this generation’s Navigator, the 2018 is a strong choice because it combines luxury presence, strong owner satisfaction, and a softer price than last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it with nearby years, but the 2018 stands out as the more confident and desirable pick within this range.
