Used 2018 Lexus LS for Sale nearRaleigh, NC

How much does the 2018 Lexus LS cost?

Prices have softened 3.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 210 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 Lexus LS a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Lexus LS earns a 4.75/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, smooth ride, strong acceleration, and stylish design, and they also point to the comfortable interior and strong value. The expert notes reinforce that with a quiet cabin, premium materials, and great handling. The main trade-offs are a potentially polarizing design and technology that can feel unintuitive, which matters if you want luxury that is also easy to use.

For you, that means the LS makes the most sense if you want a full-size luxury sedan that feels polished, distinctive, and rewarding on the road rather than simply soft and isolated. 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Lexus LS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a strong value proposition, and it specifically highlights reliability alongside the car’s power and luxury. The expert notes also frame Lexus around reliability, value, and customer service, which supports the LS’s reputation for dependability. On the ownership side, the car’s polished mechanical character and strong build quality suggest it should be a reassuring long-term choice if you keep up with maintenance.

For used buyers, the main risk is less about outright durability and more about buying a neglected example, so a careful inspection and service-history review still matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Lexus LS?

At 65.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had prior bodywork or shows signs of heavy use. Focus on condition details that matter in a luxury sedan: interior wear, electronics behavior, and whether the car feels as refined as it should on the road. If a listing looks unusually cheap, make sure the savings are not hiding repair history or deferred maintenance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The F Sport trim adds a more aggressive look with gray 20-inch wheels, a blacked-out grille, and reshaped air intakes, while the regular LS 500 can be optioned with more exotic interior materials such as laser-cut glass trim, herringbone wood, and hand-woven door trim. The base setup is already lavish, but the F Sport is the one aimed more at drivers who want a sharper feel.
• Powertrain: The LS 500 uses a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 416 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque paired with a 10-speed automatic, and it is offered with rear- or all-wheel drive. The hybrid LS 500h adds two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery for 354 combined horsepower.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ comes standard with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is also standard, while Lexus Safety System+ A adds active steering for semi-autonomous highway control, front cross-traffic alert, and road-sign detection.
• Infotainment: The tech suite includes an onboard owner’s manual with videos, 360-degree cameras that can automatically pan around the vehicle, custom route programming, and an optional 24-inch head-up display. The system is feature-rich, but the interface can be unintuitive.
• Fuel efficiency: Rear-wheel-drive models are rated at 19 mpg city and 30 mpg highway, while all-wheel drive drops to 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. The hybrid improves efficiency to 25 mpg city and 33 mpg highway in rear-wheel-drive form, or 23 mpg city and 31 mpg highway with all-wheel drive.

Which 2018 Lexus LS trim should I buy?

The 2018 Lexus LS is offered in 2 trim levels: LS 500 and LS 500 F Sport.

Here's the short version:

• LS 500: This is the better-value choice if you want the core LS experience with the twin-turbo V6, strong luxury content, and the ability to add upscale interior materials. It gives you the full-size Lexus comfort and refinement without paying for the sportier hardware.
• LS 500 F Sport: This is the trim to choose if you want the sharpest driving character, since it adds rear-axle steering, active stabilizer bars, staggered summer tires, variable-ratio steering, and stiffer tuning. It is the best fit if you care more about handling and responsiveness than maximum comfort.

Lexus Safety System+ comes standard, while Safety System+ A is an extra-cost upgrade for added driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Lexus LS?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 210 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.18% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,404, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Lexus LS's resale value?

The current average of $38,081 sits slightly below last year's $39,332.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer now but may also mean future resale gains are limited unless you buy well. If you plan to sell later, the best protection is to choose a clean, well-kept example with strong documentation and desirable equipment. A car bought near the lower end of the range should give you a better chance of minimizing depreciation exposure.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Lexus LS safe?

The LS 500 has not been tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ comes standard with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto high beams, and blind-spot monitoring is also standard. Rear-side thorax airbags are included as standard equipment, and Lexus Safety Connect adds telematics services such as stolen-vehicle alerts, automatic 911 dialing after a crash, and roadside assistance for 10 years. If you want active steering for semi-autonomous highway control, front cross-traffic alert, and road-sign detection, you need the Lexus Safety System+ A package.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus LS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 stands out for its dramatic styling, quiet cabin, premium materials, and strong handling, while also offering a value-oriented take on full-size luxury.

The bottom line: The 2018 Lexus LS is the right pick if you want a distinctive, well-equipped luxury sedan and you find a clean example at a competitive price. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep shopping for the best-condition car rather than the cheapest one, because history and maintenance matter a lot in this segment.
