Used 2018 Lexus LS for Sale nearAlexandria, VA

How much does the 2018 Lexus LS cost?

Prices have softened 3.84% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 215 listings available, which suggests you have some room to compare prices and condition before you commit.

Is the 2018 Lexus LS a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Lexus LS earns a 4.75/5 from owners and an 8/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, smooth ride, strong acceleration, stylish design, and comfortable interior. The expert notes also point to a quiet cabin, premium materials, and great handling, which fit the LS’s role as a full-size luxury sedan that aims to feel polished and composed rather than merely plush.

The trade-offs are that the design can be polarizing and the technology can be unintuitive. In practical terms, that means you should expect a distinctive luxury experience that suits you best if you value refinement, performance, and presence more than simple controls.

The model’s 34.4% good or great deal rate suggests there are still worthwhile listings to find if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Lexus LS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to reliability-minded strengths such as a strong value proposition, a dependable-feeling blend of power and luxury, and ownership confidence tied to the car’s overall refinement. The expert notes reinforce that impression by emphasizing Lexus’s long-standing reputation for reliability, value, and customer service.

The ownership picture is still worth checking closely on a used example, because long-term risk depends heavily on maintenance history and how well the car has been cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Lexus LS?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a car with a lower price or a lot of equipment. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the luxury features and driver-assistance systems operate as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The F Sport trim adds a more aggressive look with gray 20-inch wheels, a blacked-out grille, and reshaped air intakes, while the regular LS 500 can be optioned with more elaborate interior materials such as laser-cut glass trim, herringbone wood, and hand-woven fabric details.
• Powertrain: The LS 500 uses a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 416 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque paired with a 10-speed automatic, while the LS 500h hybrid uses two electric motors, a lithium-ion battery, and 354 combined horsepower.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ comes standard with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, and blind-spot monitoring. Lexus Safety System+ A adds active steering for semi-autonomous highway control, front cross-traffic alert, and road-sign detection.
• Infotainment: The tech setup includes an onboard owner’s manual with videos, 360-degree cameras that can automatically pan around the vehicle, custom route programming, and an optional 24-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The LS 500 is rated at 19 mpg city and 30 mpg highway in rear-wheel-drive form, while all-wheel drive drops that to 18/27. The hybrid returns 25/33 in rear-wheel-drive form and 23/31 with all-wheel drive.

Which 2018 Lexus LS trim should I buy?

The 2018 Lexus LS is offered in 3 trim levels: LS 500, LS 500 F Sport, LS 500h.

Here's the short version:

• LS 500: This is the core choice if you want the standard twin-turbo V6, strong acceleration, and the broad luxury experience without paying for the sportier setup. It’s the trim that best captures the LS’s balance of comfort, performance, and value.
• LS 500 F Sport: This is the best-value trim if you want the sharpest driving character. It adds rear-axle steering, active stabilizer bars, staggered summer tires, variable-ratio steering, and stiffer tuning, making the LS feel much more agile than you’d expect from a full-size luxury sedan.
• LS 500h: Choose this if you want the hybrid powertrain with its two electric motors and higher efficiency. It suits you best if fuel economy matters more than the sportiest driving feel.

Lexus Safety System+ comes standard, while Safety System+ A is the upgrade if you want the added highway-assist and alert features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Lexus LS?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 215 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.84% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,408, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Lexus LS's resale value?

The current average of $37,928 sits slightly below last year's $39,442.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price and keep the car in excellent condition, you can reduce the impact of that depreciation. Well-kept luxury sedans with desirable equipment and clean history tend to hold buyer interest better than neglected examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Lexus LS safe?

The LS 500 has not been tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ comes standard with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, and blind-spot monitoring. Rear-side thorax airbags are also standard, and Lexus Safety System+ A adds active steering for semi-autonomous highway control, front cross-traffic alert, and road-sign detection.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus LS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 stands out for its dramatic styling, quiet cabin, premium materials, and strong handling.

The bottom line: The 2018 Lexus LS makes the most sense if you want a distinctive full-size luxury sedan with strong owner satisfaction and a softer price than it had a year ago. If you’re more price-sensitive, the current market gives you enough inventory to shop carefully and target the cleanest, best-priced example rather than rushing into the first one you see.
