The owner feedback emphasizes that many drivers find it dependable and appreciate its trouble-free feel over time, especially when paired with the model’s practical cabin and available 4X4 capability. This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

If you find a listing below $12,797, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $12,797 sits slightly below last year's $14,318.

That price movement suggests the model has softened, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the key is to buy well, keep mileage and condition in check, and preserve the features that shoppers value most. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a well-liked Cherokee with strong owner satisfaction and a market that still offers some deal opportunities, the 2018 is a sensible primary target. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you can also compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
