How much does the 2018 Honda CR-V cost?

Prices have softened 3.13% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,897 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2018 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the CR-V for its value, comfort, spacious interior, good gas mileage, and useful tech. That lines up well with its five-passenger layout and roomy, easy-to-live-with crossover design, especially if you want practicality over flash. With 35.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centered on value, comfort, and features that hold up well over time. For used buyers, that usually means lower long-term ownership risk if you verify condition and maintenance history before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Honda CR-V?

At 61.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any promising listing and confirm whether prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, paint match, alignment, and signs of uneven wear, since those can reveal past collision work. It also helps to focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because a clean-looking CR-V can still hide expensive issues if it was poorly repaired.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda CR-V?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,897 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.13% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,182, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $18,532 sits slightly below last year's $19,130.

That softer pricing can help you buy more efficiently now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays under pressure. If you plan to sell later, the CR-V’s broad appeal should still help support demand, especially because shoppers tend to value its practicality and comfort. A well-kept example with strong ownership appeal should remain easier to move than a less popular compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.13% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $17,282, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $18,532 average.
• The redesign brought a stronger all-around package with standout practicality.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $20,447, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $18,532 average.
• It adds a more refined, roomy, and historically reliable feel.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2018 if you want a balanced mix of value, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If your budget is tighter, the 2017 is the smarter price-sensitive path, while the 2019 makes sense if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling option.
