CarGurus Analysis: 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid

Summary
With 26 currently listed for sale and an average price of $18,927, 38.5% of 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid 4.5 / 5 stars.
88.5% of 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid stands out because it marked the start of Honda’s third-generation two-motor hybrid system in the Accord lineup. Honda redesigned the Accord for 2018, and the hybrid version gained improved packaging while keeping the same power output as before. That combination makes it appealing to buyers who want a mainstream sedan with hybrid efficiency and a more polished, practical layout than earlier versions.
This model year also benefits from the Accord Hybrid’s roomy cabin and large trunk. The hybrid battery and related components were moved under the back seat, which preserved cargo space and allowed Honda to add a 60/40-split folding rear seat. It also came with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear seat reminder system, and low-speed automatic braking on more expensive trims. Fuel economy remained strong at 43 to 47 mpg in combined driving, depending on trim.
There are a few tradeoffs to keep in mind. The powertrain could produce a constant, steady-state droning noise under hard acceleration, and the Sport and Touring trims used larger wheels that lowered their fuel economy rating. Even so, the 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid is a compelling used choice for shoppers who want efficiency, space, and a well-equipped midsize sedan.

Glad I took it for a test drive. It’s definitely not the car for me. Too long of a hood made it impossible for me to see or judge distance in front of me.

Great spacious vehicle, pleasant to drive, the base model doesn’t have apple carplay, very comfortable seats, huge trunk space and the rear seats also fold down to give you more cargo options and room. Great fuel economy, overall a great full size sedan, the touring version has nothing to envy any mercedes or BMW for less price.

Great features, best riding car I have ever owned. Drives like an Electric Vehicle - which it mostly is, just one powered by a generator instead of a battery. The 2018 is rated at 47/47/47 mpg. My lifetime mpg is currently 47.9, but that is at the end of winter; It is about 45 mpg on winter-grade fuel, and 50 mpg on summer-grade. Those who complain about low mpg have a lead foot - it is very easy to do jackrabbit starts without realizing it.

Is the 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid a good car?
Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the 2018 redesign gives you a roomy cabin, a large trunk, and a more polished, practical layout than earlier versions. It also brings a larger touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear seat reminder system, and available low-speed automatic braking on more expensive trims. If you want a mainstream sedan with hybrid efficiency and everyday usefulness, this model year fits that brief well. 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2018 model year’s hybrid system was redesigned as Honda’s third-generation two-motor setup, and the packaging changes helped preserve cabin and cargo usefulness. The overview also points to a well-rounded ownership experience centered on efficiency, space, and practicality. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the hybrid system and related components have been cared for properly.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid?
At 54.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should run a vehicle history report and pay close attention to any collision repairs, especially if the car has had bodywork or panel replacement. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the hybrid system, braking behavior, tires, and signs of uneven wear or poor repair quality. Because this model’s appeal depends on efficiency and everyday usability, condition matters as much as mileage.

What is the 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid's resale value?
The current average of $18,738 sits slightly below last year's $19,265.
That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term appreciation if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the current trend implies you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. Well-kept examples should still draw interest because this model year combines efficiency, space, and broad usability.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 54.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.74% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2017 if:
- At $16,053, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $18,738 average.
- It emphasizes a comfortable ride and upscale feel.
The bottom line: If you want the better-rounded pick, the 2018 is the stronger choice because it brings the redesigned cabin, improved packaging, and a solid market position. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the better value path, especially if you find one in clean condition with a strong maintenance history.
