The recurring praise for strong engines and lasting appeal suggests you can count on it to deliver the kind of experience buyers expect from a muscle car. What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Dodge Challenger?

At 53.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the car has had multiple owners or any bodywork. Focus on how the car was maintained and whether it shows evidence of careful ownership, not just mileage alone.

Strong demand for well-kept examples can still support a healthy resale outcome.

Should I buy a 2018 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $20,738, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $23,198 average.
• It leans harder into retro muscle-car character with a more overtly nostalgic personality.

The 2018 is the better all-around pick if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2017 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Challenger’s core appeal.
