Summary
With 126 currently listed for sale and an average price of $16,945, 31.0% of 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrids for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid 4.29 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid stands out as the world’s first plug-in hybrid minivan, and that alone gives it a distinctive place in the segment. Chrysler also used this model to add some eco esteem to a lineup that was described as rather sparse, making the Pacifica Hybrid feel like a more focused and noteworthy offering than a typical family hauler.
For 2018, Chrysler gave the Hybrid a trim shuffle that introduced new names and made the Touring Plus the entry trim. Even at that basic level, the Pacifica Hybrid came with blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, an updated Uconnect system, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Higher trims added more luxury and convenience, including a standard 20-speaker Harman Kardon stereo on Limited models, while the Uconnect Theater could stream from Android devices wirelessly and the navigation system gained 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity.
That mix of efficiency and technology is the Pacifica Hybrid’s biggest appeal. Owners also praise its luxury features, leather seating, practicality, and family-friendly comfort, along with its eco-friendly performance and everyday efficiency. At the same time, some shoppers may be put off by concerns about safety due to recalls, and the inability to fold the second-row seats has disappointed some owners.

Great car, but plagued by constant and dangerous recalls. Since Ive owned the car, it has had at least 2 recalls that, if unrepaired, endangered my family, my car, and potentially my house through fires. An additional recall was just released that affects the transmission and could cause the car to shut down at highway speeds.

| Current Average Price | $16,787 |
| Year-Round Low | $16,787 |
| Year-Round High | $18,386 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $18,233 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −7.93% |

There are 131 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid a good car?
Generally — 4.29/5 from owners and 7/10 from our experts point to a strong overall showing for this model year. The model scores 8/10 across Cost effectiveness and Technology.
Owners consistently praise the luxury features, technology, leather seating, practicality, and family-friendly comfort. The overview also frames it as a distinctive plug-in hybrid minivan with strong everyday efficiency and a more focused appeal than a typical family hauler.
With 32.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer if you shop carefully.
Is the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid reliable?

The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the hybrid setup delivers immediate power from the electric motors and inserts itself into the drive with relative grace.
The cost-effectiveness discussion adds that the hybrid can make sense if you drive less than 30 miles a day and can live with the tradeoffs. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the battery-related and braking-related wear points have been checked carefully.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still run a history report on any candidate, because recalls and prior damage can matter more than usual on a family vehicle with this kind of equipment load. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on braking feel, battery-related operation, and whether the hybrid system behaves as expected in everyday driving. It also makes sense to pay close attention to seat functionality, interior condition, and the features you actually plan to use most.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Touring Plus starts with 3-zone auto climate control, heated mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, power front seats, power sliding doors, a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, and a 6-speaker stereo with Bluetooth, HD and satellite radio, USB, and auxiliary input. Touring L adds a power liftgate, remote engine start, heated front seats, window shades, roof rails, an upgraded center console, and leather, while Limited adds hands-free sliding doors and liftgate operation, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, better leather, and upgraded rear-seat entertainment.
- Powertrain: The hybrid uses a modified 3.6-liter V6 with dual electric motors and a CVT, with more than 30 miles of electric-only operation and charging that takes 14 hours on a standard outlet or about two hours on a 240-volt outlet.
- Safety package: The standard setup includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a rear-view camera, and rear parking sensors. The Limited adds adaptive cruise control with full stop-and-go capability, front parking sensors, lane-departure warning and intervention, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking.
- Infotainment: The updated Uconnect system includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and upper trims can add navigation with 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity. The Limited also brings a 20-speaker Harman Kardon stereo and a rear-seat entertainment system with dual seatback screens and a Blu-ray player.
- Fuel efficiency: The hybrid setup is described as capable of more than 30 miles of electric-only driving, and the gasoline-only operation is estimated at a combined 32 mpg, though real-world testing returned around 21 mpg.
Which 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid trim should I buy?
The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is offered in 3 trim levels: Touring Plus, Touring L, Limited.
Here's the short version:
- Touring Plus: This is the entry point, but it already gives you a strong equipment list with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, and power sliding doors. If you want the lowest-cost way into the hybrid without giving up the core tech and safety features, this is the one to start with.
- Touring L: This trim adds the comfort and convenience upgrades many shoppers will notice most, including a power liftgate, remote start, heated front seats, window shades, roof rails, leather, and an upgraded center console. It looks like the best-value choice if you want a more upscale family hauler without jumping all the way to the top trim.
- Limited: This is the most fully equipped version, with hands-free sliding doors and liftgate operation, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, upgraded leather, dual seatback screens, a Blu-ray player, and the 20-speaker Harman Kardon stereo. It also brings the most complete safety and driver-assistance package, so it suits you best if you want the most luxury and tech.
The Limited’s safety package is the most comprehensive, while lower trims can still be optioned with some of those driver-assistance features.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage but still need to be picky.
- Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 131 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.93% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 80.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $16,787, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid's resale value?
The current average of $16,787 sits slightly below last year's $18,233.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer trend means condition and equipment will matter even more when it comes time to list the vehicle. Well-kept examples with desirable features should still stand out, but you should expect buyers to be price-sensitive.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.29/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid safe?
The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid earns Good ratings from IIHS in most tests, with Acceptable results in the small overlap front passenger-side test and headlight test on lower trims, and a Marginal rating for child-seat anchor ease of use. It also earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA category except rollover, where it scores four-star.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
The standard safety package includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a rear-view camera, and rear parking sensors. Higher trims add adaptive cruise control with full stop-and-go capability, front parking sensors, lane-departure warning and intervention, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking.
One caveat to keep in mind is that the hybrid battery adds weight, which can increase braking distances and contribute to brake fade under repeated hard stops.
Should I buy a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.93% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.29/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2018 update brings the Touring Plus entry trim, standard blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a stronger tech story overall.
The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive and tech-rich version of this minivan, the 2018 is the year to target. If you’re mainly shopping on price, you can still find value here, but you should be selective and prioritize condition, accident history, and the trim that gives you the features you’ll actually use.
