Used 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD for Sale nearLubbock, TX

How much does the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 4.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,599 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 4.57/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise the truck’s powerful diesel performance, smooth ride, and comfort, while also highlighting its quality construction and useful amenities. For you, that means this model year makes the most sense if you want a heavy-duty truck that still feels modern inside and offers serious capability for work or towing. With 29.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to reliability, dependability, and a truck that owners feel good about counting on over time. The same reviews mention quality construction and a generally trouble-free ownership experience, which supports its reputation as a durable heavy-duty pickup. For used buyers, that still leaves normal long-term ownership risk, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot on a truck that may have been worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

At 70.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean trucks from those with collision records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on trucks that may have been used for towing or job-site duty. Focus on overall condition, signs of heavy wear, and whether the truck’s equipment and cabin still match the asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,599 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,928, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $31,002 sits slightly below last year's $32,520.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. If you plan to sell later, the softer trend means resale gains may be more limited unless your truck is especially clean, well maintained, and well equipped. Strong condition and desirable equipment should matter more when you eventually list it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $30,673, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $31,002 average.
• It is built for hard work and adds job-site-focused features that make daily use easier.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced choice, the 2018 is the stronger pick because it combines solid owner satisfaction, a softer price trend, and a broad inventory pool. If your priority is saving money first, the 2017 is the better secondary path, especially if you value its work-focused setup and can find one in strong condition.
