Used 2018 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale near Colorado

How much does the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 9.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,512 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Generally — the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners most often praise its comfortable ride, spacious interior, and good fuel economy. The overview also points to a roomy, practical compact SUV that fits shoppers who want easy day-to-day livability more than excitement.

With 28.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to the turbo engine as a positive, with many drivers describing it as an upgrade that improves power and efficiency. The expert drive notes that the powertrain works hard but remains adequate, and it describes the vehicle as generally quiet and easy to live with.

Chevrolet also includes useful ownership-minded features such as a Rear Seat Reminder and Teen Driver technology, which can help reduce everyday mistakes and encourage safer habits. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that owner feedback also raises concerns about engine reliability, so a careful mechanical inspection matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chevrolet Equinox?

At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on signs of prior body damage, uneven wear, and any evidence that the turbo powertrain has not been maintained consistently.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Chevrolet offers the new 2018 Equinox in four trim levels, and the driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems are largely limited to the LT and Premier trim levels. That means base-trim shoppers may miss out on some of the more desirable safety equipment.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic. AWD is available for an extra cost, and the review notes a bit of turbo lag and torque steer.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes Rear Seat Reminder and Teen Driver technology. OnStar’s Guidance Plan adds automatic collision notification, crisis assist, and emergency services, and the Safety Alert Seat is available. Adaptive cruise control and a full-speed-range automatic emergency braking system are not available.
• Infotainment: Chevrolet’s MyLink system includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, OnStar subscription services, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi connection. A 360-degree surround-view camera system is also mentioned, while embedded navigation and a Bose premium audio system are optional.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review says the EPA estimates 28 mpg in combined driving for the front-wheel-drive version with the 1.5-liter engine, while the test result came in at 23.3 mpg.

Which 2018 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LS, LT, and Premier.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Equinox, but you should expect the fewest features. It is the trim most likely to leave you wanting more of the convenience and safety equipment found higher up the range.
• LS: This is the trim to target if you want a basic but more usable everyday setup without stretching too far. It should appeal to value-focused shoppers who want the redesigned cabin and core tech without paying for the top-end extras.
• LT: This is the best-value choice for many used buyers because the safety and driver-assistance systems are largely concentrated here and above. If you want the strongest mix of equipment and price, this is the trim to focus on first.
• Premier: This is the pick if you want the most upscale feel and the most available equipment. It suits you best if comfort, appearance, and a more fully loaded feature set matter more than keeping the purchase price down.

Chevrolet’s driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems are largely limited to the LT and Premier trim levels, so base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,512 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,191, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $12,191 sits slightly below last year's $13,409.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum.

Because the model has a sizable pool of listings and a meaningful share of accident-free examples, clean history and strong presentation should matter a lot when you eventually resell. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes Rear Seat Reminder and Teen Driver technology, and OnStar’s Guidance Plan adds automatic collision notification, crisis assist, and emergency services. The Safety Alert Seat is available, but driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems are largely limited to the LT and Premier trim levels.

One important caveat is that adaptive cruise control and a full-speed-range automatic emergency braking system are not available. That makes trim selection especially important if you want the most advanced safety content.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 redesign gives the Equinox a smaller, more compact-SUV-focused footprint.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $13,782, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $12,191 average.
• It adds HD rear-view and surround-view cameras.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2018 is the stronger starting point because pricing is softer and inventory is broad. If you can spend more for added camera tech and a fresher feature mix, the 2019 is the better upgrade path.

How does the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox compare to the 2018 GMC Terrain?

Our experts score the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox 7.2/10 and the 2018 GMC Terrain 6.2/10. The Equinox is the better value here, with a lower average used price and far more listings to choose from. The Terrain has a slightly higher accident-free share and a marginally better good-and-great deal rate, but the Equinox’s stronger expert score and broader inventory make it the easier recommendation for most shoppers.
