How much does the 2018 BMW M4 cost?

Prices have softened 1.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 144 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 BMW M4 a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its handling, power, and advanced technology, and many say it delivers more excitement than other models in its class. The overview also frames it as a compact performance coupe and convertible that still offers everyday usability, which helps explain its appeal if you want serious speed without giving up practicality. With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 BMW M4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes that the car feels dependable in the ways that matter to enthusiasts, with praise for its performance, handling, and technology over time. That said, because this is a high-performance used car, your long-term ownership risk depends heavily on how well it was maintained and whether it was driven hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 BMW M4?

At 56.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can screen for accidents, title issues, and inconsistent ownership records. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on signs of hard use, since performance cars can hide wear that is not obvious in photos or a short test drive. Pay close attention to overall condition, maintenance evidence, and any aftermarket modifications before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 BMW M4?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop thoughtfully and still find opportunities if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 144 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,865, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 BMW M4's resale value?

The current average of $42,016 sits slightly below last year's $42,640.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the car in strong condition so you preserve as much value as possible. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 BMW M4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2018 if you want the strongest mix of owner satisfaction, current pricing, and available inventory in this model-year window. If you are especially price-sensitive, a different nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 remains the better starting point when you want a well-liked M4 with a market that still offers some deal potential.
