Generally — the 4.31/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2018 BMW 7 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.31/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that can be dependable in daily use, with praise centered on its smooth, trouble-free feel and strong long-term appeal. At the same time, some reviewers mention concerns about engine issues and repair costs, so you should expect ownership to reward careful maintenance and a strong warranty history. For used buyers, that means long-term risk is manageable if you prioritize documented service and avoid neglected examples.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 BMW 7 Series?

At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then put inspection priority on bodywork alignment, paint consistency, and signs of uneven wear that could point to past collision repairs. Because this is a luxury sedan with potentially expensive upkeep, condition and maintenance records matter as much as mileage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 BMW 7 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,706, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 BMW 7 Series's resale value?

The current average of $22,706 sits slightly below last year's $24,950.

That price movement suggests the market has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you choose a well-kept example with strong records, you may be better positioned to limit further value loss. The model’s luxury positioning and broad appeal can help support demand, but condition will matter a lot when it is time to resell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.31/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 BMW 7 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.99% compared with last year.

The bottom line:

The 2018 is a strong choice if you want a luxury sedan with a favorable price trend, solid owner satisfaction, and enough inventory to compare examples carefully. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2018 stands out as a balanced pick when you want value without giving up the flagship feel.
