Is the 2018 BMW 7 Series a good car?

Generally — the 4.3/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2018 BMW 7 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use when properly maintained, with praise centered on the powertrain, comfort, and overall ownership experience. At the same time, some owners mention concerns about engine issues and repair costs, so long-term ownership risk is best managed by prioritizing maintenance records and warranty coverage when possible.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 BMW 7 Series?

At 59.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put a pre-purchase inspection at the top of your checklist, especially for a luxury sedan where repair costs can climb quickly. Focus on overall condition, maintenance documentation, and signs of deferred service so you can separate a well-kept example from one that may become expensive later.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 BMW 7 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 521 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.07% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,339, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 BMW 7 Series's resale value?

The current average of $22,339 sits slightly below last year's $24,841.

That price movement suggests the market has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the car is bought well today. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and maintain it carefully, you may be better positioned to limit additional value loss. Luxury sedans can still depreciate quickly, but a well-kept example with the right history tends to hold buyer interest better than a neglected one.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 BMW 7 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2018 if you want a strong mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current market softness. If your priority is finding the widest possible spread of pricing and condition, it can also make sense to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than the newest badge alone.
