You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. What is the 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia's resale value?

The current average of $15,657 sits slightly below last year's $17,098.

That decline suggests the Giulia has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be good news if you are buying now and bad news if you are planning to sell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that this model year’s value is still moving in a buyer-friendly direction, so holding it longer may help you spread out the depreciation hit. Strong condition and documented maintenance will matter more than mileage alone when you go to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $13,311, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $15,657 average.
• It emphasizes the Giulia’s original, highly engaging driving character.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping opportunity, the 2018 is the stronger primary choice because it combines a solid owner rating with softer pricing and decent deal availability. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the better price-sensitive alternative.
