Is the 2018 Acura RDX a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2018 Acura RDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user review summary also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers describing the RDX as comfortable, well-liked, and a great value when bought used. That kind of feedback suggests you can count on it for steady daily use, especially if you prioritize comfort and practicality over the latest tech. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about owner satisfaction and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Acura RDX?

At 65.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage or lower-priced listing. Focus on overall condition, maintenance history, and signs of prior bodywork, since those factors matter more than cosmetic appeal on a used luxury crossover.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Acura RDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best listings.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,062 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.98% compared with last year.

What is the 2018 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $17,340 sits slightly below last year's $18,058.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can put some pressure on future resale if you plan to sell soon. Even so, the model’s strong owner satisfaction helps support demand, especially among shoppers looking for a comfortable and practical luxury SUV. Well-kept examples should hold up better than average, particularly if they have clean history and strong maintenance records.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $22,194, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $17,340 average.
• It brings a full redesign with a more upscale, modern cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2018 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer redesign and a more modern feel, the 2019 is the better upgrade path.
