The 2017 Volkswagen Beetle stands out because it blends the Beetle’s familiar retro shape with the most developed version of the modern car’s formula. By this point, it had grown noticeably longer and wider than the earlier “new” Beetle, with a fraction lower stance and a more coupe-like profile, while still keeping the front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout.
