How much does the 2017 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 3,024 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price and condition.

Is the 2017 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel economy, and cargo space, and many also like the smooth ride and broad feature set. That lines up well with its role as a practical compact SUV for everyday family use, especially if you want usefulness over excitement. With 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully for value.

Is the 2017 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback repeatedly highlights reliability and dependable day-to-day ownership, along with the kind of trouble-free practicality shoppers often want from a compact SUV. The same owner comments also point to fuel economy and cargo space as strengths, which reinforces the RAV4’s reputation as a vehicle you can count on for regular use. For used buyers, that suggests lower long-term ownership risk than many alternatives, especially if you verify maintenance history and condition before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Toyota RAV4?

At 51.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with accident records or title issues. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, signs of past repairs, and overall wear that could affect long-term ownership. Because this model is valued for practicality and reliability, a clean, well-kept example is especially important if you want the strongest ownership experience.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,024 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 51.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,661, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $17,529 sits slightly above last year's $17,484.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed stable, which is helpful if you plan to sell later and want predictable pricing. A steady price trend usually means you are less likely to see sharp depreciation in the near term, especially when demand remains consistent. The RAV4’s strong owner satisfaction also helps support future buyer interest.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong choice if you want a practical, well-liked RAV4 with stable pricing and broad market availability. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a cleaner or better-equipped example fits your budget more comfortably.
