What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Tesla Model S?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks overall condition and signs of prior damage or heavy use. Because this model can vary a lot from one listing to another, pay close attention to the specific car’s condition rather than assuming every example will be the same. A careful review of the vehicle’s history and current state will help you separate the better buys from the rest.

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 429 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.31% compared with last year.

What is the 2017 Tesla Model S's resale value?

The current average of $20,956 sits slightly below last year's $21,674.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can make the car more approachable for you as a buyer but may also temper short-term upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current trend implies you should be realistic about appreciation and focus on buying well. A clean history and strong condition matter more when the market is softening.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Tesla Model S or consider a different year?

• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.31% compared with last year.
