Used 2017 Nissan Sentra for Sale nearAnn Arbor, MI

How much does the 2017 Nissan Sentra cost?

Prices have softened 7.37% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 954 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its reliability, efficiency, smooth driving experience, and attractive styling. That makes it a sensible fit if you want a practical compact sedan for commuting, everyday errands, and low-stress ownership. With 25.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly describes it as reliable, efficient, and trouble-free for everyday use, with many drivers saying they can count on it for commuting and routine driving. The main caution in the feedback is concern about the CVT transmission, so a careful used-car inspection matters even when the car’s overall reputation is positive. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about verifying the specific car’s condition than doubting the model’s basic appeal.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Sentra?

At 49.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, paint consistency, alignment, and signs of uneven wear that could point to past collision work. You should also focus on overall condition and maintenance records so you can separate a clean, well-kept car from one that only looks good online.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best listings.

• Deal availability: 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 954 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 49.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,916, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $8,970 sits slightly below last year's $9,684.

That price movement suggests the model has softened enough to help you buy more carefully, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter more because buyers will have plenty of comparable listings to choose from. A clean history and strong maintenance record should help you stand out in a crowded compact-sedan market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 49.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $8,055, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $8,970 average.
• It brings refreshed styling and updated infotainment.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall market position and are willing to shop carefully, the 2017 is the better primary pick. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2016 is the more budget-friendly alternative and still offers a refreshed feel.
