How much does the 2017 Nissan Frontier cost?

Is the 2017 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Generally — the 4.08/5 user rating points to solid owner satisfaction for this model year. Owners consistently praise its value, comfort, and size, and they also describe it as durable and reliable with a nice ride. The Frontier’s straightforward, work-truck appeal fits buyers who want a practical pickup with broad usefulness rather than a more refined or spacious alternative. With 31.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.08/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights it as durable, reliable, and a truck you can count on, with many shoppers appreciating its trouble-free feel and long-term usefulness. That kind of reputation matters if you want a used pickup that can handle everyday work without feeling fragile. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the truck’s basic toughness and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Frontier?

At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, frame and underbody signs of wear, and evidence of hard use, since this model is often bought as a work truck. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and maintenance records so you can separate a clean, well-kept example from one that has simply been used heavily.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Frontier?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 871 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.90% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 60.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,614, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $16,238 sits slightly above last year's $15,935.

That upward move suggests the market still sees steady value in this truck, which can help support resale if you buy carefully. Because the price trend is positive, a well-kept example may hold buyer interest better than a similar truck with a weaker reputation or less consistent demand. Strong condition and clean history matter even more when you want to protect your exit value later.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.08/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.90% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.08/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $15,314, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $16,238 average.
• It offers a simple, familiar pickup formula with small updates and a no-nonsense ownership feel.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping target, the 2017 is the better primary choice because it combines solid owner satisfaction, active deal availability, and steady market demand. If your main goal is to spend less, the 2016 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in cleaner condition and with a strong maintenance history.
