How much does the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost?

Prices have softened 8.00% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,234 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, strong performance, and excellent handling, and many also like the comfortable ride and stylish design. In practical terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a luxury mid-size car that emphasizes comfort, technology, and prestige. With 33.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with owners highlighting its comfortable ride and refined driving experience. The same feedback also notes maintenance costs, so long-term ownership can be more expensive than you might expect from a mainstream used car. For used buyers, that means the biggest risk is not just finding a clean example, but budgeting realistically for upkeep over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

At 56.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report to confirm accident records, title status, and service history. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete maintenance documentation. Focus on overall condition, because repair and upkeep costs can matter more on a luxury model like this than on a simpler used car.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,234 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,455, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $17,455 sits slightly below last year's $18,972.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future buyers but may limit near-term upside for sellers. If you buy now, you may be entering at a more favorable point than owners who purchased earlier. Still, resale should remain supported by the model’s strong reputation and broad appeal among luxury shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $22,833, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $17,455 average.
• It emphasizes a more polished luxury experience with a stronger focus on refinement.

The bottom line: Choose the 2017 if you want the better value and are willing to shop carefully for condition and history. Consider the 2018 if you’re willing to pay more for a newer, more refined luxury experience; if price matters most, the 2017 is the smarter starting point.
