Is the 2017 Lexus GS a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. That kind of feedback suggests you may be looking at a car that meets expectations well for daily use and long-term ownership. The market also shows 36.8% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Lexus GS reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

For used buyers, that kind of owner feedback can reduce some of the uncertainty around ownership risk, though you should still verify maintenance history and overall condition before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Lexus GS?

At 57.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any candidate you’re serious about and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s wear matches its mileage and asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Lexus GS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, where you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 182 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,923, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Lexus GS's resale value?

The current average of $23,865 sits slightly below last year's $24,075.

That suggests the market has been fairly stable, which can help future resale planning because you’re not buying into a sharply inflated price environment. If you keep the car in strong condition and maintain it well, you’re more likely to preserve value when it’s time to sell. A steady pricing pattern also makes it easier to estimate what your car may be worth later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Lexus GS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a stable-price used luxury sedan with strong owner satisfaction, the 2017 is a sensible primary choice. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the broader market and compare condition closely, since the inventory includes both clean examples and cars with prior incidents.
