How much does the 2017 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 9.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,657 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its handling, comfortable ride, fun driving experience, performance, and value. For you, that means it can make sense if you want a rugged SUV with everyday usability and a distinctive personality. With 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with many reviewers describing the Wrangler positively over time and expressing confidence in its performance and value. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

At 69.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the listing photos and description leave any gaps. Put inspection priority on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the vehicle has been used hard off-road or in ways that could hide wear. Focus on overall condition rather than just mileage, because a Wrangler’s life can vary a lot from one owner to the next.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,657 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,585, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $18,585 sits slightly below last year's $20,475.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also means future resale gains may depend more on condition and desirability than on broad market appreciation. If you keep the vehicle clean, documented, and well maintained, you improve your odds of holding value better than average. Strong shopper interest can still support resale, especially for well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $16,989, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $18,585 average.
• It offers a fun, rugged identity with convertible appeal and year-round capability.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $20,711, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $18,585 average.
• It brings a major redesign with improved performance, practicality, and technology.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a smart middle ground if you want strong owner satisfaction and a softer price than newer models. If your priority is saving money, the 2016 is the better value play; if you want the newer redesign, the 2018 is the upgrade path.
