CarGurus Analysis: 2017 INFINITI QX30
overall

Summary
With 205 currently listed for sale and an average price of $11,559.00, 30.7% of 2017 INFINITI QX30s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2017 INFINITI QX30 3.67 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8 / 10.
62.9% of 2017 QX30 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2017 INFINITI QX30 stands out because it was built from an unusual partnership: Mercedes-Benz supplied the GLA-Class platform, and Infiniti used it as the basis for its compact crossover. That makes the QX30 feel like a deliberately different kind of entry in Infiniti’s lineup, especially since it was originally intended to be part of a two-vehicle naming plan before Infiniti combined the hatchback and crossover ideas into one model. The result is a vehicle that is described as a hatchback in denial of being a wagon, yet still plenty fun to drive.
For buyers, the appeal is a mix of style, driving character, and a premium-feeling cabin. Owners generally appreciate the smooth driving experience and attractive design, along with the advanced features and beautiful interior. At the same time, the QX30 is not without compromises: limited trunk space is a common frustration, and some drivers also dislike the manual seat controls and the entertainment setup.

Overall a great car, sporty look and fun to drive. I would have enjoyed it more with a Sunroof but it still a great car.

Nice looking SUV with beautiful interior but trunk is so narrow that you have to put rear seats down to fit a golf bag. That and the run flat tires with no spare tire (to switch to conventional tires down the road) were a deal breaker.

How much does the 2017 INFINITI QX30 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $11,607 |
| Year-Round Low | $11,401.65 |
| Year-Round High | $13,147.15 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $13,069 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −11.18% |
Prices have softened 11.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 220 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare before you commit.
If you find a listing below $11,401.65, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2017 INFINITI QX30 a good car?
With a 3.67/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating, the 2017 INFINITI QX30 lands as a mixed but appealing compact luxury crossover.
The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.
Owners repeatedly praise the smooth driving experience, attractive design, advanced features, and beautiful interior. That lines up well with the QX30’s role as a style-forward premium crossover that aims to feel more distinctive than a typical small SUV.
For you, that means the QX30 makes the most sense if you want a compact luxury model with personality and a polished cabin rather than maximum utility. The tradeoff is that the same owner feedback also points to limited trunk space and some frustrating control and entertainment choices.
Only 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than flooded with bargains.
Is the 2017 INFINITI QX30 reliable?
The 2017 INFINITI QX30 is presented as a premium compact crossover with a smooth driving character and a cabin that owners tend to like, which supports the case for a car you can live with day to day.
Owner feedback points to a smooth, dependable-feeling driving experience, and the review summary also emphasizes advanced features and a beautiful interior that help the car feel well put together. The expert drive notes add that the QX30 can move well once it gets going and that its suspension tuning works better here than in the related Mercedes model.
The available Technology Package also adds convenience features like blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, and a surround-view monitor with parking sensors, which can make ownership easier in tight urban use.
For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is that a premium small crossover with a lot of equipment can become more expensive to keep satisfying if prior owners skipped maintenance or if you end up with a neglected example.
What should I look for when buying a used 2017 INFINITI QX30?
At 61.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any signs of bodywork, uneven panel gaps, or worn interior controls. Because this model is a premium compact crossover with a lot of features packed into a small footprint, condition matters as much as mileage.
Pay close attention to whether the equipment you want is actually present, since some of the most useful features were bundled into packages rather than made standard. You should also check that the cabin electronics, cameras, and driver-assistance features work properly.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Base trim comes with LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, auto-dimming/heated side mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, cloth seats, Bluetooth hands-free calling and streaming audio, 2 USB ports, and a backup camera. Which 2017 INFINITI QX30 trim should I buy?
The 2017 INFINITI QX30 is offered in 4 trim levels: Base, Luxury, Premium, and Sport.
Here's the short version:
- Base: This is the entry point, but it still gives you LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, 2 USB ports, and a backup camera. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the QX30 and can live without the nicer cabin upgrades.
- Luxury: This is the best-value trim if you want the most comfort and convenience without jumping all the way to the sportier model. It adds leather seating, power/heated front seats, a Bose 10-speaker audio system, rain-sensing wipers, LED fog lights, and heated windshield washers.
- Premium: This trim is the right middle ground if you want a more upscale cabin and heated front seats, plus power-adjustable seating and folding mirrors. It is a strong choice if you care more about daily comfort than extra appearance or sport hardware.
- Sport: This trim is for you if you want the most distinctive look and the firmer, more aggressive setup. It adds 19-inch wheels, unique fascias, upgraded brakes, suspension and exhaust finishers, and Dinamica sport seats and trim.
The available Technology Package is worth prioritizing if you want blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, and the surround-view monitor with parking sensors.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 INFINITI QX30?
This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 220 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.18% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 61.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,401.65, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 INFINITI QX30's resale value?
The current average of $11,607 sits slightly below last year's $13,069.
That price movement suggests the QX30 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you may be able to soften the blow of future depreciation, but this is still a premium compact crossover with value that depends heavily on condition and equipment.
Because the market has moved down 11.18% year over year, future sellers should expect pricing to remain sensitive to mileage, accident history, and feature content. A clean, well-optioned example should hold up better than a rough one, but you should not expect this model to behave like a high-retention standout.
Is the 2017 INFINITI QX30 safe?
The 2017 INFINITI QX30 earns a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS.
It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.
The standard safety equipment includes front and side-impact airbags, the LATCH child-seat anchoring system, Vehicle Dynamic Control, traction control, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The available Technology Package adds blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, and a surround-view monitor with parking sensors.
That package also includes Intelligent Cruise Control++, which can match traffic speed and operate in stop-and-go conditions. If you want the most confidence in daily driving, that package is the one to look for.
Should I buy a 2017 INFINITI QX30 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 61.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.18% compared with last year.
- The 2017 model year stands out for its unusual Mercedes-Benz-based platform and its strong expert safety score.
The bottom line: If you want the QX30’s style, premium cabin, and strong safety reputation, the 2017 is a sensible year to target because prices have eased and inventory is available. If you are especially price-sensitive, focus on the cleanest example you can find rather than chasing the cheapest listing, since condition and equipment matter a lot on this model.
