How much does the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 9.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 443 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its smooth ride, powerful engine, and value for money, and many also like the luxurious features and reliability. The Santa Fe’s roomy layout and family-friendly usefulness make it a practical fit if you want a midsize SUV with extra passenger space and a more upscale feel. With 33.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers’ feedback highlights reliability alongside the Santa Fe’s smooth ride and value, which is encouraging if you want a used SUV you can count on. The model’s long warranty coverage also adds to its appeal as a used buy. For long-term ownership, the main risk is buying a higher-mileage example with neglected maintenance, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 61.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history before you get too far along. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on the suspension, steering feel, brakes, and interior wear, since condition can vary widely from one used example to another. Focus on how the SUV drives and whether the cabin features still work properly, because comfort and equipment are part of this model’s appeal.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 443 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,659, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $11,659 sits slightly below last year's $12,910.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. If you plan to sell later, the softer pricing means your resale outcome will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Well-kept examples should hold up better than average because shoppers still respond to the Santa Fe’s value and family-friendly appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $14,357, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $11,659 average.
• It emphasizes safety, roominess, and dependability.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2017 is the stronger starting point because it costs less and still earns strong owner approval. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer-feeling alternative and can stretch your budget, the 2018 is the secondary path to consider.
